Social Stamping Blog Host War & Peace

Hello and thanks for visiting my blog today!

i am joining in the Social Stamping Blog Host with the theme War and Peace.

Today is ANZAC day and we remember those that fought for our Country. If you do not know what ANZAC stands for it is the Australian New Zealand Army Corps. Today we are not permitted to attend the dawn and ANZAC services that each city, town or village holds each year.  But we will remember those that served and honour them.

Poppies are a symbol of war remembrance world wide. It is worn on Armistice Day in November and ANZAC day in April. The first thought that came to my mind when the Painted Poppy stamp set was released was ANZAC day.

  1. Start with an Old Olive card base measuring 21cm x 14cm scored and folded in half.
  2. Cut another piece of Old Olive card stock to measure 13.2cm x 9.7cm.
  3. Then cut a piece of Very Vanilla card stock to measure 13cm x 9.5cm.
  4. Draw horizontal lines of Old Olive ink using an Aquapainter on the Very Vanilla matt layer. I used a ruler and the grid lines on my cutting mat to help guide me.
  5. Glue the Very Vanilla layer to the Old Olive Matt layer. Glue these layers to the card base.
  6. Die cut a Stitched Nested Label in Very Vanilla card stock.
  7. Stamp the Poppy with stem image from the Painted Poppies stamp set in Memento™ Tuxedo Black ink just to the left of the centre on the Stitched Nested Label.
  8. Stamp the two other Poppy flowers in Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink on a small piece of Very Vanilla card stock. Then using the solid image stamp in Poppy Parade to colour the two flowers. I have stamped them both then stamped them again for some depth.
  9. Die cut these two flowers using the coordinating dies form the Poppy Moments Dies.
  10. Cut a small piece of Basic Black card stock and rub with the Embossing Buddy. Stamp the sentiment in Versamark™ink, sprinkle the White Embossing Powder over the top and set with the heat tool. Cut this sentiment out with your paper trimmer
  11. Mount the Stitched Nested Die to the card base using dimensionals.
  12. Pop the two Poppy flowers up and over the flower image on the Stitched Nested Label layer using dimensionals.
  13. Pop the sentiment up with mini dimensionals on the bottom right hand side of image.
