Colour INkspiration #170

Hello and welcome to Colour INKspiration #170.

We have such a wonderful challenge for you for CI#170. Choose 3 of your favourite Stampin' Up!® colours. How fabulous and fun is this challenge. The main issue with this is only picking three colours as all colours are beautiful. I went straight to my ink collection and grabbed Pool Party as it is my all time favourite. Then chose two more of my current colour loves, Bubble Bath and Shy Shamrock. Our colour range offers so much versatility and is current with fashionable colours.

Thanks to crew member Rose Packer for choosing this glorious photo for this fun challenge.

Pool Party

Bubble Bath

Shy Shamrock

Once I looked at the three colours together I could only think of gorgeous Cath Kidstone fabrics. Another love of mine is patchwork and quilting. Cath's prints are vibrant and my favourites are the florals. I realised I needed to use a rose or another floral to make this come to life. Layers of beauty is a gorgeous floral Bundle with the coordinating masks making it just so easy to colour and bring to life with a blending brush.

The card base is Pool Party and the mat layer of Designer Series Paper is from the upcoming Mini Catalogue and is called the Nests of Winter DSP. You will love this suite coming in the mini catalogue.

I have use the Timber 3D Embossing Folder on a piece of Pool Party card stock for the layer under the blooms. I have used Pool Party ink and a Blending Brush to give this layer some dimension before curling the corners.

I have cut some of the smaller leaves in Pool Party card stock and used some Pool Party ink with a Blending Brush for depth. Adhering them using Glue Dots™ underneath the edges of the blooms. Once I coloured the floral images I used the dark Pool Party Stampin' Blend to colour the white edges so the flowers would pop against the background. This is easily done.

The sentiment is from the Layers of Beauty Bundle. I just have not inked the Grateful on the photopolymer stamp and die cut using the tag in the Bundle before tying with Linen Thread and adhering to the card front.

Many thanks for stopping by today. I hope you are inspired to create using your three favourite colours and join in the challenge inn our Colour INKspiration Challenges Facebook Group.

Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop - Christmas in July

Hello and welcome to the July Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop.

This month we have a colour challenge for our Christmas in July themed challenge. We had a choice of colour combinations and I settled on the one below as it suited the stamp set I have used.

A suite that will be coming out in the Mini Catalogue, that comes out later this year, is the Nests of Winter Suite Collection. I got to use this beautiful suite when I attended Creativity Now, a demonstrator only online event. I loved this fun event and the gorgeous suite. It felt like a class just for me. The delicate images and boughs are right up my alley. If you love it too then look out for it when it is released later in the year.

The card base is Basic Beige as is the embossed background layer. I used the Birchwood Embossing Folder and used some Crumb Cake ink on a Blending Brush to add some colour. I also roughed up the background layer, poking holes in it to mimic real wood. Also curling some edges of the background layer. It is a large embossing folder and you can have the grain go either way on your card stock, a great new system for using embossing folders.

The bird and boughs were stamped in Memento™ Tuxedo Black ink on Basic Beige card stock. Die cut with coordinating dies and coloured using Stampin' Blends as listed below post. I love that you can get a great depth of colour on Basic Beige

I arranged the boughs in a circle to look like a wreath. Then added the bird with some sprigs of greenery in Old Olive behind to complete the wreath. It makes quite a lovely wreath. I imagined this wreath when I decided to purchase the suite for Creativity Now. I finished the card off using a Linen Thread bow placed just below the bird. I resisted the urge to use a sentiment as it looked great without one.

Up next on this months blog hop is the wonderful Karen Henderson.
