Stampers Showcase Blog Hop - Gift Packaging

Hello and welcome to my blog post for the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop for July!

This month the theme is Gift Packaging.

I have a friend who has a Birthday this week and have created this sweet little gift box with a Stampin' Up!® Mini Pizza Box. It is the perfect size for a small gift or a gift card. She loves plants and the Forever Greenery Suite Collection is perfect for this occasion.

  1. Start with a White Mini Pizza Box and a Sponge Brayer. Spread the Pretty Peacock ink over the matt side of the Mini Pizza Box with the sponge brayer until you are happy with the depth of the colour. Put aside to dry.
  2. Cut a piece of Pretty Peacock card stock to measure 8.5cm x 8.5cm.
  3. Cut a piece of Gold Foil to measure 8.3cm x 8.3cm.
  4. Then cut a piece of the Forever Greenery to measure 8cm x 8cm.
  5. Glue the three layers together with the DSP on top and Gold foil in the centre with Multipurpose Glue and set a side to dry.
  6. Stamp the Hello sentiment from the Forever Fern stamp set in Versa Mark™on a piece of Pretty Peacock card stock. Sprinkle with Gold Embossing Powder and set with the heat tool. Trim this and punch the ends with the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch. I have used a 1.3cm strip of Pretty Peacock card stock.
  7. Stamp the other sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink on a piece of whisper White card stock and die cut with a small Layering Circles Die. You could also use a small punch.
  8. Cut out a circle in Pretty Peacock card stock with one size larger Layering Circles Die. Glue this to the stamped sentiment circle.
  9. Use Gold Foil to die cut a spray of leaves from the Forever Flourishing Dies. Cut these leaves to make two sprays to go under the sentiment.
  10. Wrap a piece of the striped DSP measuring 4cm x 26cm around the Mini Pizza Box and glue it loosely together so that it slides off the box easily.
  11. Glue the Square DSP layers to the striped DSP only. So that the belly band and square layer slip off together.
  12. Arrange the Gold Foil leaves to sit below the sentiment layer and glue them down.
  13. Pop the circle sentiment layer in the centre using dimensionals then the Hello sentiment to the top right of that with dimensionals.

The Mini Pizza Boxes are so easy to work with especially with DSP!

I really enjoyed creating this gift box for my friend and need to make a conscious effort to use them more often. You could pop a photo in one and give that as a gift for someone special.

I hope you are traveling well at this time. We are experiencing a scary increase in numbers here in Australia. But, we are still very fortunate when compared to other parts of the world. I hope you and your family stay safe.

Colour INKspiration #82

Hello and welcome!

It is time for another Colour INKspiration Challenge and Crew post.

Have a look at the gorgeous inspiration picture for this challenge. Wouldn't you love to soak in that bath as you soak up that gorgeous luxe space!

For this challenge we have two of the beautiful 2020-2022 In Colours along with Basic Black and Whisper White. I could not wait to use this colour combination!

I am using the Healing Hugs stamp set for this card and I am showcasing the versatility of this stamp set by creating background that resembles Designer Series Paper.  This is a good way to make a card quickly or if you don't wish to cut out stamped images.

  1. Cut a card base in Magenta Madness measuring 21cm x 14.9cm scored and folded in half.
  2. Cut out a matt layer in Basic Black to measure 10cm x 14.4cm
  3. Cut out  piece of whisper white card stock to measure 9.7cm x 14.1cm.
  4. Stamp the rose images randomly in Magenta Madness ink and the leaves in Just Jade ink.
  5. Glue this layer to the Basic Black matt layer and allow to dry.
  6. Stamp the sentiment in Versamark™ink on a piece of Basic Black card stock. Sprinkle with White Embossing Powder and set with the heat tool. Cut out using a die from the Painted Labels Dies.
  7. Secure a piece of the Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon to the top third of the stamped piece and secure at the back with Tear n Tape.
  8. Use Black Dimensionals to secure the sentiment over the top of the ribbon
  9. Tie a bow with  a piece of the Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon and secure to the left hand side of the sentiment. with Glue Dots.
  10. Pop the stamped layers up onto the Magenta Madness card base with Black Dimensionals.

Paper Adventures Team Hop - Weather

Hello and welcome to my blog!

I am so excited and honoured to be hopping with my friend Kelly Kent and the Paper Adventures Team today.

The theme for this hop is Weather!

I have decided to create a card with the fun Under My Umbrella stamp set. I wanted to make a card for a very special friend who has been under the weather for the past few weeks.  I want to let her know that I am here for her and will post this too her today. With everything that is going on at the moment it is important to realise that for some people it is even harder when they have health issues compounding the effect of the pandemic.

  1. Start with a Magenta Madness card base measuring 21cm x 14.9cm scored and folded in half.
  2. Cut a piece of Whisper White card stock to measure 10cm x 14.4cm.
  3. Cit another piece of Whisper White card stock to measure 9.7cm x 14.1cm. Emboss 5cm of the base and 5cm of the top of this piece with the Greenery Embossing folder.
  4. Tie a piece of Linen Thread around the top of the lower embossed area securing at the back with Tear n' Tape. Tie a piece of Linen Thread in a bow on the left hand side.
  5. Glue the last two layers together and leave to dry.
  6. Stamp the two gumboots on a piece of Whisper White in Daffodil Delight ink and colour with the Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends.  Fussy cut both boots out.
  7. Use the Stamparatus to stamp the two flower bunches on Whisper White card stock. I first coloured the outline of the flowers with a Magenta Madness Stampin' Write Marker and then stamped it. Then colouring the leaves with a Just Jade Stampin' Write Marker and stamped again. I then coloured the bunches with the Magenta Madness and Just Jade Stampin' Blends. Fussy cut these bunches out.
  8. Stamp the sentiment from on a strip of Whisper White card stock in Magenta Madness ink and cut it down close to the words with your trimmer and banner the end with paper snips.
  9. Die cut a piece of vellum using the second largest Stitched Shape Circle die.
  10. Use dimensionals to position the flowers on the gumboots. Then use dimensionals to adhere the Gumboots to the vellum stitched circle. Then use dimensionals to adhere to the embossed Whisper White matt layer. Make sure you hide the dimensionals behind the Gumboots so that you don't see them through the vellum.
  11. Glue the sentiment layer to the Vellum Stitched Circle.
  12. Pop the card front up on the Magenta Madness card base using dimensionals.

Make sure that you head over to the talented Lisa Whitehead for her Weather inspired creation! She is next on the Paper Adventures Team Blog Hop!

Thank you so much for stopping by -  you are appreciated!

Hope you are going okay at this time. We are expecting more restrictions in NSW, Australia today as there has been an increase in Corona 19 cases. Please take care of yourself, your family, friends and community!
