Stampers Showcase Blog Hop - Thinking of You

Hello and welcome to the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop for February. This month the wonderful crew are making Thinking of You Projects.

I instantly fell in love with the beautiful Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper available for free during Sale a-Bration! The delicate blooms are just so easy to work with. My wrist Tendinitis is still playing up so I opted for an easy process of colouring the Designer Series Paper using Blending Brushes.

I went searching for a current Thinking of You sentiment and surprisingly only found one in the Art Gallery stamp set. I thought I would surely have a few. I love the simple font in the Art Gallery stamp set has and thankfully it was a great size for this card.

  1. Start with an Orchid Oasis card base measuring 21cm x 14.9cm scored and folded on half
  2. Cut a pice of Old Olive card stock to measure 9.5cm x 13.8cm. Using Dimensionals adhere this straight on the card front
  3. Cut the Designer Series Paper to measure 9.5cm x 13.8cm. Lightly colour the top of the Designer Series Paper with Orchid Oasis ink and the bottom with Old Olive ink using Blending Brushes
  4. Glue the Designer Series Paper on the top of the Old Olive layer on an angle
  5. Stamp the sentiment in Old Olive ink on a 7cm x 1.2cm piece of Old Olive card stock. Run a length of Old Olive ribbon along the bottom glueing in place. Adhere this to the bottom right of the card font using Dimensionals
  6. Adhere a Brushed Brass Butterfly to the card front

these gorgeous colours.

I wanted to use these colours gently and went with water colouring my stamped then embossed images. My wrist Tendonitis continues so loose water colouring was perfect for the lovely Happiness Abounds bundle.

  1. Start with a Basic White card base measuring 21cm x 14.9cm scored and folded in half
  2. Use Tahitian Tide ink and a Blending Brush to add colour to the right hand side of the card base where the detail will be revealed by Die cutting
  3. Cut another piece of Basic White card stock to measure 9cm x 13.4cm and use the detailed Die in the top right corner of the card the cut the matte layer. Adhere to the card front using Dimensionals
  4. On a piece of Shimmery white card stock stamp all the flowers and leaves in Versamark™ink and sprinkle White embossing Powder over the top and set with the Heat Tool
  5. Colour the images using the ink pad (see below) and a Water Painter. Use the coordinating dies to cut out all stamped images
  6. Arrange the blooms and leaves on the card front and adhere using Dimensionals
  7. Stamp the Sentiment in Tahitian Tide ink on a piece of Basic White card stock measuring 8cm x 1.2cm. Once stamped angle both ends
  8. Tie a 20cm length of the Tahitian Tide Twine and tie it in a double bow. Adhere to the right hand side of the card using a Glue Dot™
  9. Secure the sentiment to the bottom of the card using Dimensionals
  10. Adhere 5 of the Tahitian Tide Matte Decorative Dots to the card front as desired

Many thanks for stopping by today. I hope you will join us for this challenge.

Have a great week!
