Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop -Technique Challenge

Hello and welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop for December 2023. This month we have a Technique Challenge for you, Waterolour Smooshing.

Each month a group of creative friends create a project for a theme. Below is an image of all of the crew and where they are from around the globe. Such a talented and wonderful group of people.

I decided to use this technique to make a background layer for my card featuring the Queen Bee stamp set and dies. I enjoy creating my own backgrounds using this technique.

First I placed my Balmy Blue and Pool Party ink pads upside down on a plastic surface. I then sprayed gently with water before gently dropping my A 5 piece of Basic White card stock into the ink. I did this over and over until I covered the piece of card stock and I was happy with the depth of colour. I dried it odd using the Heat Tool and then stored it under the largest Acrylic Block to keep it from curling.

I glued the cut smooshed layer to a Pool Party mat layer, before gluing it to a Pool Party card base. I then stamped the words from the stamp set in Balmy Blue ink on the top central section underneath where the vellum layer goes. I then cut a large stitched circle in Vellum.

I stamped the bee in Versamark™ink on a piece of the smooshed card stock. Sprinkled with Gold Embossing Powder and set with the Heat Tool. Die cut the bee. I then cut out the wings and two of the curved leaves in Gold Foil. . I glued the leaves to the edge of the top and bottom of the Vellum circle. I adhered the die cut wings to the bottom of the embossed bee using Dimensionals before adhering to the centre of the Vellum circle using Dimensionals

Colour INKspiration #157

Hello and welcome to Colour INKspiration #157.

This is our last challenge for 2023. But, we have the most gorgeous colour palette for you. I hope you feel encouraged to join us for this challenge. It is a perfect colour combination for a fun Christmas card.

The Sending Cheer Bundle has been another favourite from the current Mini Catalogue. It is such a fun stamp set and perfect for a whimsical Christmas card for this colour challenge.

The card base is Lemon Lime Twist and I have matted the card base with a piece of Lemon Lime Twist Designer Series Paper from the Brights 6" x 6" DSP. I then cut a piece of Basic White card stock just larger than the stockings and glued this to the card front.

I stamped the three stockings in Coastal Cabana, Bubble Bath and Orchid Oasis ink on Basic White card stock before cutting them out with the coordinating die. I also cut three of the stocking tops in Basic White card stoak and glued them to the stocking tops.

I stamped three each of the holly leaves and berries in Lemon Lime Twist and Flirty Flamingo respectively. Then cut them out using the coordinating dies before gluing them to the top of the three stockings. I adhered the three stockings with Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment in Flirty Flamingo before using scissors to trim. I tied some Lemon Lime Twist ribbon in a double bow and adhered it to the right side of the card using a Glue Dot. Then used Dimesnionals to adhere the sentiment on top. I secured six of the Bubble BAth sequins around the stockings to add a final touch of sparkle.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you will join us for this final challenge.

Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop - Sounds of the Season

Hello and welcome to the Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop for December. The holiday season is just around the corner and we have some fabulous inspiration for you this month.

I love Christmas music and really looked forward to this blog hop. The divine sheet music from the Joyful Designer Series Paper was purchased for this project. This specialty paper is something very special. All pieces of this DSP are just so beautiful.

I cut the DSP into a mat layer and glue it to another mat layer, tying a length of the Gold and Vanilla ribbon across the front with a bow on the right hand side, before gluing to the card front.

I then die cut a piece of the gold foil using the square detailed die. I adhered this to the card front using Dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment in Versamark™ink on Very Vanilla card stock. Sprinkled with Gold Embossing Powder and set with the Heat Tool. I die cut the sentiment layer with the square die from the Christmas Classics Dies. I glued this to the gold foil layer.

I glued two of the holly leaves and three of the red gems to two corners of the sentiment layer. These Loose Holly, Gems and Sequins are just gorgeous and the perfect finishing touch.
