Colour INKspiration #168

Hello and welcome to Colour INKspiration #168!

This challenge's gorgeous inspiration image was chosen by crew member Bernie Roodt. A place that I would love to visit for sure.

I wanted to create a masculine card with this gorgeous colour palette. The Trucking Along stamp set was perfect and I love the truck in Cajun Craze. I imagine a fully rusted truck sitting out in a shed or at a farm gate full of sunflowers for sale by the road.

The gorgeous Tartan Foil Designer Series Paper worked so well for this card. As did the Perennial Postage Dies. The banner from the Nested Essentials Dies was stamped, heat embossed and then die cut down to size to suit the sentiment and the size of the card. I used a piece of Cajun Craze card stock as a a mat layer between the Lost Lagoon card base and the Tartan Foil layer, to add contrast and dimension.

The truck was stamped in Cajun Craze for the outline then the for the truck body too. Wheels coloured in Basic Black Stampin' Blends. The tail light in Real Red and headlight in Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends. The flowers were stamped in Memento™Tuxedo Black ink then Real Red and Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends for the sunflowers and Lost Lagoon Stampin' Blends for the leaves. The ground area stamped in Crumb Cake ink for added dimension.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope I have inspired you to be creative and perhaps join us in this colour challenge. You can join us on Facebook here or just create using the colour palette.

Have a great week!

Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop - The Adventures of Benji

Hello and welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop for June.

This month we have the cutest challenge of The Adventures of Benji. Benji is Angie McKenzie's gorgeous dog and he is inspiring our projects for this challenge. Isn't he so handsome. I have had the pleasure of chatting online to Angie as she has walked Benji and I love hearing about their adventures.

Here is an image of the Around the World on Wednesday Crew and where we all are around the world. It is such an honour to join this crew each month for a challenge. It is also always fun!

When I thought about this challenge I decided to create a card representing where I take my dog Maggie for her favourite walk. I am sure Benji and Angie would love to walk along beside us.  Our favourite walk is on a  path in my little town that has beautiful trees beside it and views to the escarpment. Such a lovely relaxing walk and stunning scenery.

The meandering Meadows Designer Series Paper had a beautiful scene almost matching my view when walking my dog and I have simply created a card usig that piece of DSP. Above is a superimposed picture of Benji looking into the scenery of this DSP.....so much fun!

The card front was created by gluing a piece of the DSP to a Pecan Pie card Base. On the piece of leftover DSP I stamped on the reverse side using a sentiment from the Perennial Postage stamp set in early Espresso ink and glued it to a piece of Early Espresso card stock before gluing it to the card front.

That is it! A very simple card with such a pretty scene. I believe these scenic pieces of DSP are as easy to create with as a card kit. You need the DSP, some card stock, ink, glue and a sentiment. We all have that right!! It does not always have to be layers and layers or lots of colouring, especially when working with this beautiful DSP.

Below are  pictures of my dog Maggie walking on our favourite path. Maggie is a Groodle and is currently 16 months old. She loves a walk!!

Up next on this month’s blog hop is the wonderful Rochelle Laird-Smith!

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you enjoyed my simple project for this challenge.
