The Stampers Showcase Blog Hop - Spring/Floral April 2019

Hello and welcome to my blog.

I am excited that it is time for another Stampers Showcase Blog Hop.

Our theme for this month is Spring/Floral. I love anything floral and it was so difficult to decide which stamp set to use for this hop.

I have had this card in my mind for quite a while and felt this months theme was perfect. I had wanted to make a wreath out of the Braided Linen Trim since I first laid eyes on it. Firstly, I decided to successfully create a stable circle I would have to glue it to a pre-cut circle.

I started by using 2 Layering Circle Framelits™ Dies to cut a wreath out of the Crumb Cake card stock.  These dies were the 3rd and 4th largest dies laid out on the Crumb Cake at the same time and put through the Bigshot™ together to create a circle - see image below. I then glued the Braided Linen on the top of the circle. I chose Crumb Cake as it was a similar colour to the Linen Trim. I then put this to the side and let it dry whilst I continued to create.

There is a piece of the  Pineapple Punch Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper that is 10cm x 14.4cm glued to a card base of Whisper White that measures 21cm x 14.8cm scored and folded in half. I ran a piece of Whisper White card stock through the Bigshot™ with the Pinewood Planks Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder then cut this down to measure 9.5cm x 13.9cm. I glued these two layers to the Whisper White card base with Tombow™ Mono Adhesive glue.

I then stamped the two flowers and leaf images from the Amazing Life stamps in Memento™ Tuxedo Black on Whisper White card stock. I coloured these images in with Balmy Blue, So Saffron, Mango Melody and Old Olive Blends. These flowers are very sweet.

I stamped the sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings in Memento™Tuxedo Black on a 1cm strip of Whisper White card stock. I cut it out and bannered the end with my scissors.

I also cut a piece of the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper in a 1.5cm strip and bannered the end.
The Braided Linen wreath was then glued to the Pinewood Plank base. The Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper Banner and the Sentiment Banner were then placed in position using Dimensionals. Followed by the two flowers also placed with Dimensionals.

I then tied the Linen Thread in a little bow and glued it into position at the top of the wreath with glue and let dry.

I hope you enjoyed reading how this card came together. I really enjoyed creating it and I am happy that my wreath idea worked.

Colour INKspiration #CI54 - Happy Tails Card

Hello and welcome to my blog today!

Time for another Colour INKspiration creation and blog hop!

I have enjoyed creating a simple card in Basic Black, Whisper White and Real Red. But the reason I have created this card was very difficult. My Mother in law had to put her elderly and  ill dog down in March and I created this to give to her.  Tansey was a sweet little dog, a Fox Terrier cross with a lot of zest for life.

I wanted to keep this card clean and simple.

I started with a card base of 21cm x 14.9cm scored and folded in half.

I then cut two pieces of Whisper White. One at 14.4cm x 10cm and the other  14.1cm x 9.7cm.

Then on the smallest piece of Whisper White I stamped the Dog Kennel and sentiment below the kennel in Memento Tuxedo Black on a smaller piece of Whisper White card stock I stamped the Heart, Dog and then the spots on the dog as it comes as a separate stamp.

I stamped the solid heart image into the Memento Black outline stamp. I then used the Dog Builder punch to punch both the the Dog and the heart. I attached these to the card front with dimensionals.

Then glued the two Whisper White pieces together  with the stamped images on the top and then glued that to the Basic Black card base.

This was a very simple and quick card to make. I love this bundle and any dog lover would love to have a card made with this set. I am sure my Mother in Law will love it too. We all loved that little dog.

Thank you for visiting my blog today. I appreciate it greatly.

I hope that I have inspired you to be creative today!

On Stage Auckland 2019

Hello and welcome to my blog.

Today I would like to share some highlights from OnStage Live - the Stampin' Up!® Convention held in Auckland from the 11th until the 13th of April. On Stage is held each year in April and November. Stampin' Up!® select where they are holding the three day live event and it was held in the South Pacific this time, Auckland. Otherwise it is a one day event.

Auckland is a beautiful city. It was the first time that I have travelled to New Zealand and I am already planning to go back sooner rather than later. The weather was perfect and we felt the city was very welcoming and friendly.

The photo below I took of the city on the ferry as we crossed the harbour to visit Devonport.

Auckland hosted about 700 demonstrators for On Stage, it was a huge event. I met so many demonstrator friends and many new demonstrator friends in Auckland. It was a wonderfully friendly event. People were introducing themselves and sharing information as well as many funny moments with each other.

I was very fortunate to have some team members attend On Stage with me. It was great to share this special time with these amazing ladies and friends.

I received a beautiful card from one of my team members when we all got together the day before On Stage started. I am holding the card in the photo above. It really made me feel special. The girls that are in my team just amaze me with their friendship and constant support. They truly are the best people.

The team is pictured below with Sara Douglass (CEO) and Shelli Gardner (Co founder and Board Chair). It was lovely talking to them as they really care about each and every demonstrator.

Another highlight for me was catching up with the very talented ladies from the Colour INKspiration Crew. We had a dinner together at Elliot Stables. I am in awe of these talented ladies and they have made me feel very welcome since I have joined the crew.

Below is a picture of the Colour INKspiration crew members that attended On Stage.

I promoted this year and attended the Centre Stage event held at the Auckland War Memorial. This dinner was held on the Thursday night and we were transported to the War Memorial by bus. We then walked to the top of the Memorial to the function room. This had beautiful views of the city and the perfect place for such a special dinner. Sara Douglass sat at our table. It was lovely to chat with her as the night progressed. We witnessed an amazing Maori group perform traditional singing and dancing. Their performance was uplifting.

Below is a photo of Sara Douglas and I at the Centre Stage dinner.

A couple of weeks before On Stage I was asked to talk to the Centre Stage demonstrators at a function on the last day of On Stage. I feel very honoured to be asked to do this. It was very special as I spoke about unifying my team. This subject is very close to my heart. When I decided to start doing workshops and classes in 2018 my goal was to bring women together to share in creativity. I wanted to create a warm and welcoming environment and a place that each person attending classes felt that they were important and belonged to a special group. I have seen times change and felt that women do not connect with each other as they have in times past. I want women to feel connected to each other. I normally would have not accepted an offer to speak publicly. But this time it was about my favourite subject, Stampin' Up!® and our amazing team. It was an amazingly wonderful experience and I feel truly honoured to be invited to speak. The photo below is of me making my speech to the demonstrators at Centre Stage.

We received the New 2019-2020 Catalogue and I cannot wait until I am able to give this beautiful catalogue to my customers. It is a highlight of On Stage, that is for sure. Some of my friends also presented product suites at OnStage. Cazz Boyland, Bronwyn Eastley and Cheryl Millar all created beautiful cards and items with their product suites. They did a fantastic job as did all the other presenters that included Brian Pilling and Sara and Shelli. Sara and Shelli had us in stitches of laughter.

It was the best Stampin' Up!® event that I have been to so far. I guess that it is because it went for three amazing days. The excitement and enthusiasm by all demonstrators created a wonderful experience for all. I am planning my next trip to On Stage already.

I hope you have enjoyed reading about my On Stage experience in Auckland. If you are interested in joining me for the next event please get in touch with me. I would love to have you join in on the fun!

I hope you have enjoyed the Easter break.

Have a great week!

Colour INKspiration #CI53 - Dear Doily Thank You Card

Hello and welcome to my blog!

It is time for another Colour INKspiration crew blog hop!

Again we are using beautiful colours. Just check out the beautiful inspiration photo below!

I just love navy and green together, and navy and pink together! So this is ticking quite few boxes for me. Anyone that knows me knows I wear a lot of navy!

Dear Doily is one of my favourite stamp sets at the moment.
So I as soon as I saw the colour INKspiration photo I knew I had to use it for this challenge.

I started with a Bermuda Bay card base that measures 21cm x 14.9cm - scored and folded in half. On the top of that I glued a piece of Night of Navy card stock measuring 10cm x 14.4cm.

I then cut a piece of Whisper White Card stock that measures 9.7cm x 14.1cm.  Then stamped the image using the Stamparatus. First I coloured the stem in Mint Macaron and stamped it on the Whisper White. Then I coloured the flowers in Petal Pink and stamped again with the Stamparatus. The Stamparatus is the Perfect tool for colouring one image in with two different colours.

I then tied the Whisper White Bakers Twine around the bottom half of the card twice with a bow on the left hand side. and secured with Glue Dots™️.

I stamped the Sentiment from Dear Doily in Night of Navy ink on a piece of Whisper White card stock.  I cut it out with the Layering Circle Framelits™️ and also a scalloped circle from the same Framelit™️ set in Whisper White. I glued the sentiment circle to the scallop circle. I the used dimensionals to attach to the left hand side of the Whisper White piece with the floral stem on it.

To create the Night of Navy sentiment piece I rubbed the Night of Navy piece of card stack with the embossing buddy and then stamped the sentiment in Versa Mark™️.  I then used the Rectangle Stitched Framelits™️ Dies to cut the sentiment out. I then made this rectangle smaller by moving the rectangle die down to create a better fitting rectangle for this sentiment.

I also cut the smaller doily out from the Doily Builder Framelits™️. Cut this little doily on half. Then attached this to the back of the Night of Navy sentiment with glue.

I then attached this to the base of the circular sentiment with dimensionals.

I finished the card off by placing three Mint Macaron Basic Adhesive Backed Sequins around the floral stem.

I hope you have enjoyed reading how I put this pretty card together. I truly love this gorgeous Stamp and Framelit™️ set.

Thank you for reading my blog, I truly appreciate you!

Please make sure you click on the next button to see what gorgeous creation the amazing Fiona Whitehead has made. Then hop all the way around to see what the other crew members have created. They are all amazingly talented!

Have a great week!
