Colour INKspiration #152

Hello and welcome to Colour INKspiration #152!

This month we have a beautiful colour palette chosen by team member Bronwyn Eastley. Isn't it gorgeous!! It would suit my home decor so beautifully. I love the ocean and nautical elements.

I needed to create some sympathy cards as I always like too have them on hand. This Bundle worked so well with the colour palette. The images are simple, elegant and aso easy to work with.

The card base is Night of Navy. Once I embossed the Basic White card stock I was able too stamp the floral images in Starry Sky ink on top of the embossed card stock. I was surprise that this worked so well and the images are clear. The Distressed Tile Embossing Folder is a stunning embossing folder and one that you will bring out time and time again. I love it!

The sentiment layer was stamped in Night of Navy and Gray Granite before punching out. I used both Linen Thread and Night of Navy Bordered Ribbon as I felt I needed a contrast from all the blue and the Linen Thread went well with Gray Granite.

I hope you enjoyed hearing how this simple card came together. This Bundle is amazing and something you could use when in need of a quick card for a special occasion. Any of the sentiments from this Bundle will work with this punch and outline stamp. Watch this space for more projects featuring this Bundle.

MAny thanks for stopping by my blog post today!

Stampers Showcase Blog Hop - Happy Fall Y'all

Hello and welcome to the September Stampers Showcase Blog Hop.

This month we have Fall as our theme. Whilst I am in Australia experiencing Spring it is a lot of fun to create for fall and use those beautiful Autumn colours from the Stampin' Up!® colour palette.

I have had the Trucking Along Bundle for a while and felt this would be a great thing to use for an Autumn card. The sunflowers in the back of the truck are perfect. I always think of the countryside when imagining seasons and the truck is perfect in the countryside even in my little town it wouldn't look out of place.

I chose Pecan Pie as my base card and set about finding some coordinating Designer Series Paper. The Let's Go Fishing DSP was perfect with the check. I usde Very Vanilla card stock as it went with the DSP. I cut a Stitched Circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies, they are my go to for shapes.

The Truck is in Pecan Pie ink and the wooden sides in the back are Pebbled Path ink. The flowers and leaves are Crushed Curry and Old Olive. The clouds are Boho Blue for some fun. The sentiment is stamped in Peccan Pie on Pecan Pie card stock.

I enjoyed creating this fall inspired card and feel that it could be given to both men and women. The sentiment lends itself to many occasions too. This bundle has so many images that can go in the back of that truck. Perfect for Christmas, Birthdays and even Babies depending on what you put in the back of the truck! I am looking forward to designing more cards using this bundle!

Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop - Let’s Take a Walk

Welcome to the September Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop!

Each month a group of creative friends create a project for a theme. Below is an image of all of the crew and where they are from around the globe. Such a wonderfully talented and friendly group of people.

This months theme is Let's Take a Walk. So we are taking a walk in our local area and with that in mind creating a project. It is the beginning of Spring here in Australia and as I walk my puppy through our neighbourhood I am aware of all the flowers that are blooming and paying attention to the ones I have not seen before in particular. My puppy, however is just interested in sniffing the grass the whole way.
Below is an image of my neighbourhood where I walk my Puppy.

Here is a picture of my Puppy Maggie sitting under a gorgeous Magnolia tree in the centre of our town near my favourite shop, the Berry Tea Shop. Maggie is a 7 month old Groodle. She is the sweetest girl who loves to go for a walk. So, for this month blog hop I wanted to create something with lots of blooms. I settled on the gorgeous Garden Wallk Designer Series Paper before deciding to team it with the LAsting Joy stamp set. They really work well together.

This is my Birthday card made for a wonderful friend who is celebrating her birthday later this week.
I have kept the layout and elements simple as I wanted to show off this gorgeous DSP. It has become my favourite from the Mini Catalogue.

Stamping the flower in Poppy Parade and Wild Wheat in the centre and leaves  in Pretty Peacock on Basic White card stock prior to fussy cutting each piece. I stamped the sentiment in Pretty Peacock and the surrounding Countryside Corner stamp set in Popy Parade. I left the cut flower border in as it worked so well too.

The central band is on the other side of the floral DSP and glued to the floral DSP. Perfect coordination. I popped the sentiment layer up on Dimensionals before adhering to the Countryside Corner stamped layer. Then popped these layers up on Dimensionals before adhering to the top of the band.

Before adhering the flower and leaves I tied a 20cm length of Linen thread in a double bow and adhered it to the bottom right of the Countryside Corner layer using Seal+. The flower and leaves are popped up on Dimensionals. The final thing is to place three of the Pretty Peacock Adhesive Backed Sequins aound the sentiment layers.

Up next on this months blog hop is the wonderfully talented.Rochelle Laird-Smith.  Click on the next button below to keep hopping and seeing what everyone is creating to this months fun theme.
