Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop - Technique Challenge

Hello and welcome to the March Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop.

This month we have a technique challenge requiring the crew to showcase die cutting.

I love die cutting and wanted to show how easy and amazing the larger more detailed dies are to use. I am using the gorgeous Two Tone Flora Bundle for my card. The detailed larger die in this bundle caught my eye as soon as I saw it in the Annual Catalogue and was the first product I ordered. I love the large two step stamped blooms a lot.

  1. Start with a Fresh Freesia card base measuring 21cm x 13.9cm scored and folded in half
  2. Cut the DSP to measure 10.5cm x 13.9cm and glue to the card base
  3. Cut a 10cm x 13.7cm piece of White card stock and centre the large die before running both through the Cut & Emboss Machine a couple of times to ensure all areas have been cut properly. Then glue to the card front
  4. On a piece of Basic White card stock stamp the large flower. First in Fresh Freesia and then the detailed image in Gorgeous Grape. Stamp two lots of the small flowers in Gorgeous Grape and Die cut all pieces
  5. Stamp the two leaves in Versamark™ink on Basic White card stock, sprinkle with White Embossing Powder and set with the heat tool. Then die cut the leaves
  6. Cut a 20cm length of the Night of Navy ribbon and tie in a bow. Secure to the bottom left of the card using a GlueDot™
  7. Arrange then secure the die cut pieces to the top of the ribbon using Dimensionals and Glue
  8. On an 8cm x 3cm piece of Night of Navy card stock stamp the sentiment in  Versamark™ink, sprinkle with White Embossing Powder and set with the heat tool. Die cut using the small die from the Something Fancy Dies. Adhere to the card front using Dimensionals
  9. Secure three of the Gorgeous Grape Glossy Dots around the floral image

AS you can see there are a lot of die cut images and pieces in this card. They all work so wonderfully when they are from a coordinating suite of products. The night of Navy Ribbon is not from the same suite but I felt it worked with the colour palette from the DSP.

Up next on our blog hop is the talented Gez Carpenter.
