Around the World on Wednesday - This or That

Welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop for November. You will be travelling through each time zone with each Blog you visit so make sure you hop around the world with us.

Below is an image of where the crew live around the world. It is just wonderful to join these lovely creatives each month for this blog hop. This blog hop is organised by my friend Angie McKenzie from the US. I feel so blessed to be part of this wonderfully talented group of creatives.

This month we continue to CASe a team member with our challenge. It is the amazing Sharon Hashimoto Burkert this month and the Theme is This or That.

I found one of Sharon's beautiful cards (below) and have CASed it for two cards using different products. I love a tag on the front of a card. It is a beautiful way of focussing on a stamped image or die cut.

My first card uses products from the Beautiful Gallery Suite. I love the hues in the Designer Series Paper.  Particularly the detailed paper on my card below. It reminds me of Morris and Son's prints which I adore. It was a great starting point for my card.

The card base and matt layer is Secret Sea and Cloud Cover. The DSP is glued to the card front. The Tag is cut from the DSP as well. I stamped the sentiment in Secret Sea before Stamping again with Versamark™ink, sprinkling with clear embossing powder and setting with the Heat Tool.

I punched a slit in the top of the tag using a punch from the Hole Punch Assortment. I have tied a length of Cloud Cover Ribbon with Linen Thread after pulling it through the slit.

I stamped the floral image on Basic White card stock using Memento™Tuxedo Black ink. I die cut it using the coordinating die.  The blooms were coloured using Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends, The leaves Soft Sea Foam Stampin' Blends and I then coloured the edge of the die cut using the light Cloud Cover Stampin' Blend. I adhered it to the front of the tag using Dimensionals.

For my second card I was drawn to the fun Hobby Haven DSP. This is from a new Suite called the Hobby Haven Suite Collection. This paper is gorgeous and perfect for so many occasions with something for everyone! The die cuts are so easy to work with and I have chosen to work with the plants and a tag from the DSP.

The card base is Coastal Cabana with a Secret Sea matt layer. The background is a fun piece from the Hobby Haven DSP. It is a fun design! I die cut the same tag from the Nested Essentials Dies as above in Crumb Cake and adhered the tag from the DSP to the top with glue after punching a hole with another punch from the Hole Punch Assortment.

A length of White Ribbon was pulled through the hole and tied off with a bow using the Garden Green Chevron Ribbon, tied in a bow, that coordinates with the DSP and Suite. The tags were adhered to the front of the DSP layer using Dimensionals.

I adhered the die cut plants from the DSP using Dimensionals. So, so easy! I stamped the sentiment in Versamark™ink on Secret Sea card stock, sprinkling with white embossing powder and setting with the Heat Tool. I cut the sentiment using scissors and adhered it to the card front using Dimensionals.

I hope you like my two projects using two very different suites. I loved the versatility of Sharon's Design and used it like a sketch to create my projects. Which project do you prefer?

I am sure to use this design again soon.

Next up is my amazing friend Rochelle Laird-Smith . Keep hopping around the world with us for more inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by. You are appreciated!
