Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop - CAS(e) a Team Member - Bananas!

Hello and welcome to the July Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop. This month we have been assigned to CASe another team member. I was so excited when I heard I was to CASe Jan Clothier, my wonderful friend from New Zealand. If you don't follow Jan you really should, she is an amazing designer of the most beautiful cards. Her Instagram handle is @thinkingstamping.

Below is an image of where the crew live around the world. It is so wonderful to participate in this fun blog hop each month.

Jan and I spoke via Messenger and decided that we would CASe each other and add something extra to the project as a surprise. Now this was a lot of fun and, beacause I love Jan's work so much, extremely difficult to choose a card to CASe.

Something we discovered during our chat is that we both have been playing Words With Friends for a long time and now we are enjoying playing against each other. I have to say that Jan is an amazing player and I am enjoying the challenge of playing against her. I am hoping to improve my vocabulary. I love playing Scrabble or Bananagram!

As I was scrolling through Jan's wonderful Instagram feed this gorgeous card caught my eye. I think it is is in Coastal Cabana, a favourite colour of mine. I could see the design working with many stamp sets but I had recently purchased the Frames & Flowers Specialty Designer Series Paper and could see this working particularly well for this CASe.

I first looked a what paper elements might create the bouquet and then which sentiment would work from the coordinating Simply Said stamp set. It was with great joy that I found the background Designer Series Paper to compliment the lovely die cut background on Jan's card. Win!!

I have had the Stylish Shapes Dies for quite a while and they are always getting used. A favourite die bundle. It was then so easy to recreate the shapes Jan used to complete her card.

But can you see the added surprises?

My first extra is a Linen Thread bow to the right of the sentiment and my second little extra was a flower from the specialty paper to give the bouquet some dimension. So easy to add as this and the bouquet was already cut out. A wonderful feature of this Specialty Paper.

The card was completed with the products below. I love the Petal Pink Fine Sparkle Gems finishing off the card as Jan had done with hers. It just looks so pretty!

I love the Frames & Flowers Specialty Designer Series Paper for its ease of use and beautiful die cut elements. I can't wait to create with it again. Make sure you check it out too in the Annual Catalogue on page 29!

Up next on this months hop is the wonderfully talented

  5. Bravo! Great CASE with completely different products - except for those ever-useful workhorse dies, Stylish Shapes. I love the addition of the linen twine bow -it's a favourite product of mine too. :-)
