Hello friends! Welcome to my blog post for Colour INKspiration #196.
This challenges inspiration image was chosen by Lou Kitzelman. Such a serene image and wouldn't you love to own that green beetle?
I decided to use an Embossing Folder with ink bartered on it for this challenge and settled on the fun Summer Splash ink and card stock to do this. Green is my favourite colour.
I started with a Summer Splash card base. I then cut a Summer Splash mat layer. I bartered the Soft Waves Embossing Folder with Summer Splash ink before running it through the Cut & Emboss Machine. I love how this turned out. Fantastic texture for my card.
I die cut Basic White layer using one of the larger Textured notes dies
In Gray Granite ink I stamped the woven circular image in Gray Granite on the lower left of the Basic White die cut piece. I then randomly stamped both the text and splurges from the Elements of Text stamp set in Gray Granite filling in the rest of the white spaces. I stamped the small lever stamp in Summer Splash three times at the top of the woven circular image. I glue the slayer to the embossed mat layer.
I die cut one of the smaller rectangle dies in Summer Splash. I stamped the sentiment on a piece of Basic White card stock in Early Espresso ink. I cut it down to fit in the Summer Splash die cut piece creating a frame for the sentiment. This layer was adhered to the right side of the card front using Dimensionals.
I stamped the larger branch in Shy Shamrock and fussy cut it before adhering it to the left hand side of the sentiment using Dimensionals. I tied a length of the Summer Splash ribbon and Linen Thread into two bows and adhered them to the left hand side of the card on top of each other using GlueDots™. The finishing touch was three of the Shy Shamrock Flat Pearls around the sentiment.
Thank you for visiting my blog today. I hope you play along with this challenge or feel inspired to create by my project.
