Hello and welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday Blog hop for February.
Below is an image of where the crew are from around the globe. Such a wonderful group of creatives wanting to inspire you. This months theme is a Technique Challenge. I have decided to use my favourite technique to create a Valentine's Day card for Valentine's Day today.
Here is my project, and you can easily tell my favourite technique is to heat emboss. I heat embossed the sentiment. I still get a kick out of the agic that is heat embossing. If you haven't tried it before I encourage you to have a go. The effect is truly gorgeous.
I settled on the Bee Mine Suite Collection for my project. The card base is Sweet sorbet and the DSP from the Bee Mine Designer Series Paper. I love the design on this piece of DSP. I tied a piece of the Sweet Sorbet ribbon around the centre of the DSP.
I die cut the second largest Scalloped Contour rectangle in Basic White. I cut out the larger circle from the Everyday Details Dies in Basic White to sit under my Bee and a second smaller on for the sentiment.
The bee was stamped in Daffodil Delight and Memento™ Tuxedo Black ink. The wings in Pool Party ink. I punched out these images after stamping them and put it together before adhering to the larger circle and the scalloped rectangle using Dimensionals.
The sentiment was stamped in Versamark™ ink, sprinkled with Black Embossing Powder and set with the heat tool. Then the circle adhered to the scallop layer using Dimensionals.
I punched out two hearts in Sweet Sorbet and adhered using glue to the lower centre of the two circles. I then adhered three of the hearts from the Adhesive Backed Hearts and Flowers. The final touch was a length of White Twine tied in a double bow on the right hand side.
Up next on the months blog hop is my friend Rochelle Laird-Smith. Click on the next blog button below to head to her post for more inspiration.
