Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop - Colour Challenge

Hello and welcome!

My name is Leonie Stuart and I am from Berry, New South Wales, Australia. This is the latest hop for the Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop. This month we have a very sweet image for a fun colour challenge. See below. Make sure you click on the link at the bottom of the page to hop around to see everyones amazing projects for this colour challenge.

The fun colours in this image are so pretty and I was looking to use the Enduring Beauty Bundle for the first time. This bundle was the first on my list from the new mini catalogue. I was excited to use the masks that coordinate with the stamped image to colour this glorious bloom. I wanted to try using the same ink for both the dark and light masked areas. I selected my three favourite colours from the colour challenge and sat down to create.

The card base, mat layer and embossed background are Pretty Peacock card stock. I stamped the floral image in Memento™Tuxedo Black ink on Basic White Card Stock. Then used the coordinating masks to colour the flowers and leaves in both light and darker shades of both Lemon Lolly and Soft Sea Foam ink. I achieved this look by using Blender Brushes and applying less ink and then more ink for a deeper colour. Once coloured I used the Pretty Peacock Stampin' Blend to go around and colour the Basic White areas so it would sit well with the background layers.

Before adhering the floral image I tied the Lemon Lolly sheer ribbon in a large bow and glued it to the embossed layer. Also a strip of the Lemon Lolly ribon across the centre of the embossed layer adhering at the back of the the mat layer. I die cut many of the detailed blooms and leaves from the dies in Soft Sea Foam card stock and glued them around and under the bloom.

I stamped the sentiment on a piece of Pretty Peacock card stock in Versamark™ink sprinkled with Gold Embossing Powder and set with the Heat Tool before die cutting using the label die. The sentiment layer was adhered using Dimensionals and then I placed four gold sequins around the blooms.

Up next on our blog hop is the wonderful Rebecca- Jo Unwin. Click on the next blog button below to head to her blog post.

  2. A truly wonderful achievement! I always wonder whether the stencil is useful or whether it's easier to give in to colouring, but in any case, the result here is perfect! x
