Kylie's Demonstrator Training Program Monthly Team Blog Hop November

Hello and welcome to my blog!

Thank you for stopping by for Kylie's Demonstrator Training Program Monthly Team Blog Hop!

Things are warming up over here for our Summer and Christmas. I love the Still Scenes Bundle and wanted to create an Australian Christmas scene for this challenge.

I was reminded of a home that my brother owned with the house stamp. I have coloured it in to resemble my brothers two story Red Cedar Cottage. He also planted and maintained a magnificent garden.

I started out with a Sahara Sand Card Base. I then cut another piece of card stock to measure 10cm x 14.4cm and cut the hole for the snow globe before using the 3D Subtle Textured Embossing Folder on that piece.

I stamped the snow globe base on a piece of Sahara Sand using Early Espresso ink then moving the ink around using an Aqua Painter. I love the way this turned out. It was very simple to do.

I cut the background of the snow globe out in Whisper White card stock and brayered this with Balmy Blue ink.

I stamped the house and tree image in Memento™ Tuxedo Black on Whisper White card stock and used the coordinating die to cut it out. I then coloured it in using the Stampin' Blends listed below.

I wanted to create Gum Trees so I used the bullet end of the Old Olive Stampin' Blend to dot the leaves on the tree.

I then coloured the Christmas Tree in Old Olive Stampin' Blends to resemble the Christmas Tree in Apex Park in the town of Berry, NSW. I grew up in this town and every Christmas Eve the combined Churches hosted Carols in the Park for the town and a tree was decorated for this event.  Almost everyone from the township went. We took candles and a picnic. It is a very happy childhood memory. After colouring the tree I placed the Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots on the tree and punched a star out of the Gold Foil using the Twinkle Builder Punch.

After assembling the scene and putting the snow globe together I placed a Linen Thread bow between the base and the globe.

This was a fun project to work on and reminded me of many Christmases and family events.

I am sure that  many of you would like to create with the Still Scenes Bundle. The ladies that attend my monthly classes loved creating a Snow Scene card with this Bundle. There is something magical about a snow globe.  Whilst there is nothing to shake in my card I still feel it creates a wonderful Australian Christmas Scene. I had thought of putting sand in the globe to shake but there is no sand around the tree in the park or in the township at Christmas.

Hope you are having a wonderful week and are turning your thoughts to getting creative for Christmas and New Year. Perhaps even making some Christmas Cards!

Make sure you hop around to everyones blog this month using the links below. You will certainly find something inspiring!
