Stampers Showcase Blog Hop - Masculine

Hello there and welcome to my blog for the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop!

This months theme is Masculine. This is the perfect theme as my Brother is having his birthday soon. He loves to be in his garden and works at a nursery, so I enjoyed creating with the Peaceful Place stamp set and my Stampin' Blends. I really enjoy colouring with the Stampin' Blends and with my Storage by Stampin' Up!® they are always close at hand.

I started with a Early Espresso card base measuring 21cm x 14.8cm scored and folded in half.

I then cut a piece of Soft Suede card stock to 10cm x 14.4 cm. Then a piece of the wood design form the Pressed Petals Designer Series Paper (DSP) to 9.8cm x 14.2cm. I glued this DSP to the Soft Suede. I cut a piece of the Hessian DSP to 10cm x 2.5cm and glued this to the centre.

I cut a piece of Very Vanilla card stock to 7.5cm x 10cm. First I rubbed the card stock with the Embossing Buddy. I stamped the image in Early Espresso using the Stamparatus. Then, without moving the stamp or card stock, I cleaned the stamp with the Simply Shammy, then stamped the image in Versa Mark™. I heat embossed the image in Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder and set it with the heat tool. I have done this so that the image would not "bleed" ink as I coloured it with my Stampin' Blends.

I used the Stampin' Blends listed at the bottom of this post to colour the stamped image. To get a softer look for the larger tree on the left I used Mossy Meadow ink and a Sponge Dauber to create a softer look to the leaves on the tree. I sat this aside to ensure all ink dried before assembling the card.

I matted the stamped image with a piece of Early Espresso measuring 7.8cm x 10.2cm. Then a piece of Soft Suede card stock measuring 8.2cm x 10.6cm. I glued the Very Vanilla image to the early Espresso then the Soft Suede to the Early Espresso.

I ran the Linen thread around the Hessian piece of DSP twice and tied it in a bow on the left hand side with the Key from the Bird Ballad Trinkets.

I then popped the stamped image and  layers up on dimensionals and attached to the centre top of card.

I have included a photo of the inside of the card. I stamped the sweet Squirrel and coloured him in as he was so cute! I stamped this and the sentiment in Early Espresso And that is my card! just coloured the Squirrel image with my Stampin' Blends.

I hope that I have inspired you to create something today. I find it so relaxing to focus on creating a project for a particular subject and find that what I have in my mind is never what I end up with.
