Around the World on Wednesday - This or That

Welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop for August.

This month we are CASeing our wonderfully talented team member Rochelle Laird -Smith. I love her gorgeous work. Rochelle is a fellow Australian and I am very fortunate to have meet her in person and call her a friend. Rochelle loves to create a his and hers version of a card at times and that is why we are creating with a This or That theme.

I have chosen a recent project of Rochelle's to CASe. A gorgeous layout and template that will work for both male and female cards. See Rochelle's beautiful card below using the Charming Day Bundle. I love it in blue and yellow. Such a beautiful card!

For my female version I have used the Thankful Garden Bundle. A Garden Green card base and mat layer. The Lovely Garden Designer Series Paper as my background layer and bannered strip. I have die cut one of the Textured Noted rectangles and stamped the sentiment in Melon Mambo ink on the bottom right hand side.

The floral layer was stamped in Memento ™Tuxedo Black ink and coloured using a Blending Brush and Melon Mambo and Garden Green ink before die cutting and adhering to the left of the sentiment using Dimensionals. Three of the White Starburst Sequins were adhered around the flower.I tied a length of Linen Thread in a bow and adhered it with glue.

For the male card the card base is Mossy Meadow and the mat layer Pecan Pie. I cut a piece of the Beautiful Gallery DSP for the background layer and cut it smaller than the mat layer. I glued the DSP to the matt layer and then to the card front. I cut the banner layer from a light piece of the Beautiful Gallery DSP. I stamped the text from the Elements of Text stamp set in Pecan Pie and used a Blending Brush and Pecan Pie ink to darken the banner. I glued the banner to the card front.

The sentiment layer was cut from Pecan Pie card stock using a Textured Notes Die. The sentiment stamped in early Espresso ink. I adhered this to the card front using Dimensionals.

The trees and lower vegetation pieces were cut from Mossy Meadow card stock. I darkened the trees using Mossy Meadow ink and a Blending brush. The trees were glue down and the lower vegetation piped up on Dimensionals.

I cut the wood for the fire out of Pecan Pie card stock and the flames from Darling Duckling card stock. The centre of the flames was coloured using Timid Tiger ink and a small Blending Brush. I adhered these to the vegetation using a dimensional. Three of the MossyLow Profile Sparkle Dots completed my card.

Colour INKspiration #193

Hello and welcome to CI#193

This challenges inspiration picture was chosen by Vicki Boucher. Isn't it beautiful.

I love these three colours together and felt the Cloud Cover looked almost silver when stamped with the other colours. I chose the Cake Celebrations Bundle to work with these colours. I have not had many opportunities to get this fun bundle out and create yet. It is on the last chance list in the online store at the time of blogging this post at the end of July 25.

The card base and matt layer are Highland Heather. I ran the matt layer through the Cut & Emboss Machine using the Damask Designs Embossing Folder. I cut an arch in Basic White card stock and adhered this to the centre of my card using Dimensionals.

I stamped the plate in Cloud Cover ink on Basic White card stock and die cut using the coordinating die. I used a Blending Brush and Balmy Blue ink to lightly colour a small piece of Basic White card stock and die cut the two cake layers. The cake filling, icing and banner were die cut from a Piece of Basic White card stock. I glued all these pieces together before adhering to the cake plate and using Dimensionals to adhere it to the Arched piece of card stock.

I used a Blending Brush and Highland Heather ink to lightly colour a small piece of Basic White card stock and die cut the three flowers. I stamped the flower centres with the small stars and then used a dauber and some more Highland Heather ink to darken the flower centres to make them look like pansies. Then adhered them using Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment in Highland heather ink on Basic White card stock and cut it closely to the letters before adhering it to the centre of the cake using Dimensionals.

I cut a length of the White ribbon in half and tied a double bow before adhering to the card front using GlueDots™ to complete my card.
