Colour INKspiration #182

Hello and welcome to Colour INKspiration #182.

This challenges gorgeous inspiration image was chosen by crew member Cathy Pinchbeck. A beautiful room to relax in. There is something Bohemian and pretty about this space.

I have been having so much fun creating with products from the fun Wildflower Birthday Suite. Such pretty Designer Series Paper and whimsical fonts. I was inspired to create a card when looking at the front cover of the current Mini Catalogue and chose Peach Pie as the more dominant colour.

I started with a Peach Pie card base and mat layer. I used the Peach Pie Designer Series Paper as a background layer. I cut a smaller piece of Peach Pie card stock and used a blending brush to darken the edges. I glued this to the centre of the DSP layer.

I cut a piece of Basic White card stock and Embossed it with the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing folder. I die cut the pocket from the Birthday Celebrations Dies. I stamped the banner in Pumpkin Pie ink at the top of the pocket and in Boho Blue the sentiment at the bottom. I stamped two Pretty in Pink and one Peach Pie flower on Basic White card stock. Then two leaves in Pretty Peacock and the banner in Peach Pie ink. I fussy cut all these pieces before adhering them all to the pocket using Dimensionals.

I die cut four of the tassel pieces from the Birthday Celebration Dies in White card stock and glued them together. I glued the top of the tassel at the front and back and wove a length of the Gold Twisted Thread around to cover the top of the hassle. I tied another length of the gold thread in a double bow and secured it to the top of the tassel using a GlueDot™. I used another GlueDot™to adhere the tassel to the front of the card. I then adhered three of the Peach Pie Shimmer Gems around th sentiment to complete my card.

Many thanks for stopping by today. I hope you use our colour palette for this challenge to create something wonderful in your craft space!

Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop - Sketch Challenge

Hello and welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop for February. This month we have a sketch challenge. I truly love a sketch to work with. I try to think outside the box for these challenges and use a bundle I am not gravitating towards. The Ocean Friends Bundle is so much fun and has lots of colour I decided to create using the bundle and the beautiful coordinating Friends of the Ocean Designer Series Paper.

Below is an image of where the team reside around the world. It is such a wonderful group of creatives supporting each other and enjoying sharing creativity together! What's not to love about that, right!

Below is the sketch for this challenge.

I have kept my card simple to show the beautiful Designer Series Paper in all its glory. The card base is basic white as is the Stylish Shapes Die cut stitched circle for the focal piece. The DSP background layer and three background pieces where all cut from the Friends of the Ocean DSP. Both glued to the card base. It is such a vibrant and colourful DSP.

The bubbles were stamped in Coastal Cabana ink on the stitched circle layer. The crab was stamped in Melon Mambo ink and Die cut using the coordinating die before being adhered to the bottom right of the circle using Dimensionals. This layer adhered to the card front using Dimensionals.

I die cut four of the tassel pieces from the Birthday Celebrations Dies and glued them together at the top. I adhered them to the left hand side of the circle layer using glue. I tied a length of White Baler's Twine in a double bow and adhered it to the top of the tassel using a GlueDot™. I love the simpleness of this card and the sketch was wonderful to use.

Up next on this months Blog Hop is my friend Rochelle Laird-Smith. Please click on the next button below to keep hopping for more inspiration using this great sketch.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you have found time to be creative this week!

Colour INKspiration #181

Hello and welcome to Colour INKspiration #181.

We have a gorgeous colour palette for you this challenge. It was chosen by crew member Lou Kitzelman. I wish I could be here at this very moment. It is so hot here in my home town in NSW today.   We have the amazing Monique Fielder joining us as guest designer for this challenge.

I have had the Heart Shaped Bundle, available as part of Sale a-bration, out on my desk to use this week and decided to challenge myself to create for CI#181 using this bundle. I am so happy with how it turned out. The layout could be used with other colours too.

The card base, mat layer and embossed layer are all Summer Splash card stock. The fun Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder was perfect for the background. I used a Blending Brush and Summer Splash ink to darker the edges of this layer. All three layers glued together. I cut the Basic White layer using the second largest stitched square  from the Stylish Shaped Dies.

I die cut the floral heart from Azure Afternoon card stock, the flower from Pool Party card stock and the leaves from Coastal Cabana card stock. The heart glued to the Basic White stitched square. I tied a length of separated linen Thread in a bow and adhered it to the right hand side of the heart using glue. The flower and leaves adhered using Dimensionals on top of the bow. This layer adhered to the card front using Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment in Summer Splash ink on Summer Splash card stock and trimmed it with scissors. I adhered the sentiment to the card front using Dimensionals. I have kept the card fairly simple as the dies are just so pretty and I wanted to showcase them in this project.

Thank you for visiting my blog today. You are appreciated!
