Around the World on Wednesday | 3D Projects

Hello from Australia and welcome to my very first post as an Around The World On Wednesday Team member. I am so excited to be joining this amazing team of paper crafters from all around the world.  And so honoured that my friend Angie McKenzie invited me to be part of the team. I wish to thank Angie again for her invitation to join the team!......Did I say I was excited about joining the Around The World On Wednesday Team!!

This blog hop happens on the Second Wednesday of each month.

The team is chosen so that there is a post from a team member in every time zone around the world. How fabulous is that! So it truly is an Around The World On Wednesday Blog Hop! Below is an image of the team that indicates their location on the map of the world. I live on the South Coast of New South Wales in Australia. At the bottom of my post is a list of all participants in the blog hop so that you can go directly to their blog post or get back on track if you are lost.

This months theme is 3D Projects and I have been looking at my Springtime Joy stamp set and Arrange a Wreath Bundle thinking that they will make a fabulous Easter Home Decor piece to have on my mantelpiece at Easter. The bunny image is just so sweet with the flowers on its head and the basket containing the eggs was the perfect thing to have beside the bunny.

I love wreaths and have arranged the wreath in an oval shape to reflect an egg and the new life it represents at Easter. My children have grown and left home so it will be something sweet to enjoy like the Easter Bunny. There are so many gorgeous Easter decor items in the shops this year and I love the fun items such as egg cups and bunnies. I thought I could create my own and bring it out at Easter each year. I suspect one of my daughters will like it and I will probably gift it to her. Then I can make another one! YAY!

Here is my 3D project for this months challenge!

I started by die cutting the wreath in Fluid 100 watercolour card stock then colouring with Mint Macron Ink and a water painter. Then I stamped the bunny in Soft Suede ink and the basket in Crumb Cake ink on Fluid 100 watercolour card stock. I allowed the ink to dry and coloured both images with Stampin' Blends being careful not to get close to the edges of the image as the ink would bleed. I fussy cut the coloured images.

I then glued the wreath down in the centre of a piece of Thick Basic White card stock that was cut to fit the frame. Then I used dimensionals to pop the Bunny and the Basket up!

For all supplies see list at bottom of post.

I am really happy with how this decor piece turned out and have it on my mantelpiece ready for Easter. It would make a lovely gift at Easter too!

I am sure you are keen to keep hopping there are so many amazing 3D projects this month!

Next up on the blog hop is the very talented Rochelle Laird-Smith.
