Colour INKspiration #189

Hello and welcome to Colour INKspiration #189.

These wonderful challenges give you an amazing colour palette to work with. I hope you join us for one of the challenges soon!

The image below was chosen by Monica Formosa and this challenge we have Petra Noeth joining us as guest designer. What a beautiful floral inspiration image we have for this challenge.

I wanted to stay with the floral theme of the inspiration image. I recently purchased the Impressions Abloom Bundle and imagined if I cut the oval die cut in half then it might look like a vase. And that is what I did for this challenge.

The card base is Basic White card stock. I cut a mat layer tin Basic White card stock and then cut the Cloud Cover piece Designer Series Paper slightly smaller and glued the two together before adhering to the card base with glue.

I then die cut the oval in Basic White cards tock and cut it in half. I then used the floral embossing folder from the Glass & Gardens Embossing Folder Duo to emboss some pretty detail. I tied a length of Cloud Cover Ribbon around the top of the vase, securing at the back with glue.  I adhered the vase to the card front using Dimensionals.

I then set about creating the flowers and leaves by gently blending ink on a piece of Basic White card stock. I blended the ink and then used the dies to cut out the flowers, flower centres and leaves. The Cloud Cover leaves were on another piece of scrap card stock. The dies work amazingly and give so much detail. I also die cut some of the small flowers in Basic White card stock. I love the soft look the gentle blending of ink gave to the colours of the blooms. The flowers centres were glued in place.

I arranged the flowers and leaves and adhered them to the top of the vase using Dimensionals. The small white flowers were glued in place after the larger blooms were adhered.

I then tied a length of the Cloud Cover Ribbon in a bow and adhered to the right hand side of the flowers using a GlueDot™. I stamped the sentiment in Secret Sea ink on a piece of Basic White card stock and cut close to the letters before adhering with Dimensionals.

I completed the card by adhering three of the Cloud Cover Flat Pearls on the card front.

Many thanks for stopping by today. I hope you will join in the fun of creating with the Colour INKspiration Challenges or join our FaceBook Group.

Colour INKspiration #188

Hello and welcome to Colour INKspiration #188.

This challenges inspiration image was chosen by Lou Kitzelman. We welcome Chez Tolentino as our guest designer for this challenge. We hope you join us for this challenge too!

For my project I decided to challenge myself to create a card using products from the Beautiful Gallery Suite and use the challenge colours more gently, in keeping with the vintage feel of this suite. I also wanted to use the Designer Series Paper that coordinates with the suite and found the perfect piece.

The card base is Gray Granite as is the frame. The designer Series Paper was cut as a mat layer and glued to the card front. I stamped the detailed image repeatedly on the frame once die cut. I love the texture and depth this gave to the frame. I cut a piece of Fluid 100 card stock to fit inside the frame and used a Blending Brush anD Coastal Cabana Ink to gently colour it before gluing to the frame. The frame was adhered to the top of the DSP layer using Dimensionals.

I stamped the floral image in Gray Granite ink on Fluid 100 card stock and coloured it using a Water Painter and Gray Granite, Strawberry Slush and Timid Tiger ink. I then Die cut it along with four of the small detailed die cuts in Gray Granite card stock.

I tied a length of the Basic Beige Ribbon in a bow and adhered it to the bottom right of the frame using GlueDots™. I then adhered the smaller die cut pieces to the back of the floral piece using glue. I then adhered the floral piece to the top of the bow using Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment in Gray Granite ink on Fluid 100 card stock. I then cut it down to size using scissors and adhered to the card front using Dimensionals. Then added three of the Holographic Resin Dots around the sentiment.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you join us for this challenge! Have a great week.
