Colour INKspiration #214

We have stunning colour combination this challenge. The inspiration image is a photo crew member Lou Kitzelman took on holiday recently. Isn't it a stunning photo of a sea of blooms. Gorgeous!

I have recently purchased the new Hot Foil System and have really enjoyed getting used to this amazing piece of equipment in my craft room. I have gotten the hang of Hot Foiling very quickly, to my surprise. I’m absolutely smitten with the results and feel that it takes your creativity up a notch.

It was a hard choice when deciding what products to get to use with the Hot Foil System. All wonderful products. I chose the Butterfly Flight Hot Foil Dies and the Sweetly Sentimental Hot Foil Dies when ordering my machine.

The card base is Thick Basic White Card Stock. The first layer is a piece of Two-Tone Granny Apple Green Card Stock. I have embossed the darker side using the Fern and Flora 3-D Embossing Folder. I gave the embossed side a rub with a sandpaper block just to give the paper some dimension and show off the White core. This layer is cut to the same size as the card front and was glued on.

The next layer was created by cutting the lighter side of the Two-Tone Granny Apple Green Card Stock in a rectangle and adhering it to a slightly larger piece of Granny Apple Green Card Stock. I adhered the two layers using glue and then Dimensionals to adhere to the top of my embossed layer.

I then die cut some leaves from the Butterfly Flight Dies out of Old Olive Lovely Blossoms designer series paper. I set them to the side as I created my foiled butterflies.

I used the Butterfly Flight Hot Foil Die to create some gold butterflies on Basic White Card Stock. I used the coordinating masks to colour the butterflies using blending brushes and Berry Bliss, Melon Mambo and Fresh Freesia. I die cut these butterflies using the coordinating die. 

I arranged then adhered the butterflies using Dimensionals. I then adhered the die cut leaves using GlueDots™. The final touch was five Old Olive Dew Drops Embellishments.
