Aound the World on Wednesday - Sketch Challenge

Hello and welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop for April 2026!

I am so glad you are able to join the team and I this month as we share a Sketch Challenge with you. Make sure you hop all the way around the World with us and this sketch. You will find so much inspiration here.

This is the crew, below, and where they are from around the globe. Such a wonderful group of designers who get together monthly to inspire you.

Here is our lovely sketch to create with. A sketch is such a great way to start a project and I never know when I start how it will look at the end of my creative process. I choose a bundle or Designer Series Paper first and I am ready to go from there.

I wanted to create a clean looking card for this challenge. I settled on the beautiful Nature's Symphony for my project. The Designer Series Paper would work beautifully in the background.

My card base and layers are all in Basic Beige card stock snd the background rectangles are from the Nature Walk Designer Series Paper I added matt layers behind the DSP and the central rectangle layer  this gives the card more depth.

I roughly calculated the sizes of the four DSP pieces before cutting and then gluing them into place. I then lied this layer to the card front.

The central rectangle layer is embossed with an Embossing Folder that will be available next month called the Fern & Flora 3D Embossing Folder. I went very well with this card.  glued it to the matt layer before adhering it to the card front using Dimensionals.

I punched a circle in Basic Beige card stock using the 2 3/8 Circle Punch. I stamped the leaf image in Mossy Meadow ink 5 times on  piece of Basic Beige card stock. I die cut each stamped image and glued them around the edge of the punched crick. Then adhering this layer using Dimensionals to the centre of the rectangle layer.

I stamped the sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink on Basic Beige card stock and Punched it out using the Triple Banner Punch. I adhered it using Dimensionals to the right hand side of the leaf wreath. I tied a length of Linen Thread in a bow and adhered it to underneath the sentiment using Glue Dots™.

Colour INKspiration -#207

Hello and welcome to Colour INKspiration #207!

We have another beautiful colour palette this challenge. This Challenge's inspiration image was chosen by crew member Cheryll Miller. I love this image of pastel paint!

I settled on making a baby card for this challenge. The Welcome Baby stamp set is just so cute with its sweet images. The colours felt too bright for a baby card when stamped using an ink pad. I tried something fun and used my Stampin' Write Markers to place colour in strokes across each stamp. This made the colour softer and also made the images look coloured with pencils. I liked the look so I just went for it!

The card base and mat layer are Basic White card stock. I cut a piece of the Nest of Winter Designer Series Paper in Coastal Cabana as the back ground layer. Leaving a thin white margin of Basic White card stock around.

I die cut a stitched circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies in Basic White and stamped a Bubble Bath banner on the top left side. I Stamped all the images and fussy cut with scissors.

I arranged the cut images on the stitched circle with Dimensionals and glue. Keeping the little shoes until later for the sentiment.

The sentiment was stamped in Pool Party ink on Basic White card stock and Die cut using the Stylish Shapes banner die.I stamped a piece of Bubble Bath card stock with the dotted stamp using Bubble Bath ink. I trimmed it and then bannered the ends using the Three Banner Punch.

I tied a length of White Twine in a double bow and adhered it on top of the bassinet using glue. The Bubble Bath banner was adhered to the back of the sentiment using glue before Dimensionals were adhered and these layers adhered on top of the bow.

The finishing touch was three Coastal Cabana Adhesive Backed Dots.

Thanks for stopping by my blog post today. I hope that you feel inspired to use this colour palette for your own creation soon.
