Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop - Outside the Box

Hello and welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop for June.

This month we are CASeing the wonderful Mikaela Titheridge. Our fellow Team Member.  I love Mikaela's creations and look forward to hopping with her each month. As you can imagine there was so much inspiration to choose from when looking at Mikaela's projects. I started by looking at a bundle I wanted use, The Cheers & Sips Bundle. I love all products in this Suite for their fun and vibrant colours. I also decided to CASe one of Mikaela's Around the World on Wednesday creations.

I found the cutest card from her blog dated 15 December 2022. Using the Sweet Citrus stamp set and perfectly pairing it with the Nothings Better Than stamp set for such a sweet card. Also drink themed stamp sets! It was the best jumping off point for CASeing her card.  I had to think Outside the Box on how to use the larger elements and create a background with the coordinating products from this Suite.

I kept the base card in a yellow, Daffodil Delight. I used some Daffodil Delight ink to blend colour over the right hand side of the Daffodil Delight mat layer. Then I embossed the  right hand side of the mat layer with the cut glass embossing folder. I adhered the mat layer using Dimensionals.

I fussy cut the three glasses from the Celabratory Sip Designer Series Paper and adhered them over the top of the Embossed area of the mat layer. I tied a length of the gold ribbon in a knot and adhered it to the top of the glass on the right. Stamped the sentiment in Secret Sea ink on Basic White card stock, trimmed to size and adhered over the top of the ribbon using Dimensionals. Finishing my card with three of the Holographic Resin Dots around the glasses.

Up next on this month’s blog hop is the very talented Rochelle Laird- Smith.

Colour INKspiration #189

Hello and welcome to Colour INKspiration #189.

These wonderful challenges give you an amazing colour palette to work with. I hope you join us for one of the challenges soon!

The image below was chosen by Monica Formosa and this challenge we have Petra Noeth joining us as guest designer. What a beautiful floral inspiration image we have for this challenge.

I wanted to stay with the floral theme of the inspiration image. I recently purchased the Impressions Abloom Bundle and imagined if I cut the oval die cut in half then it might look like a vase. And that is what I did for this challenge.

The card base is Basic White card stock. I cut a mat layer tin Basic White card stock and then cut the Cloud Cover piece Designer Series Paper slightly smaller and glued the two together before adhering to the card base with glue.

I then die cut the oval in Basic White cards tock and cut it in half. I then used the floral embossing folder from the Glass & Gardens Embossing Folder Duo to emboss some pretty detail. I tied a length of Cloud Cover Ribbon around the top of the vase, securing at the back with glue.  I adhered the vase to the card front using Dimensionals.

I then set about creating the flowers and leaves by gently blending ink on a piece of Basic White card stock. I blended the ink and then used the dies to cut out the flowers, flower centres and leaves. The Cloud Cover leaves were on another piece of scrap card stock. The dies work amazingly and give so much detail. I also die cut some of the small flowers in Basic White card stock. I love the soft look the gentle blending of ink gave to the colours of the blooms. The flowers centres were glued in place.

I arranged the flowers and leaves and adhered them to the top of the vase using Dimensionals. The small white flowers were glued in place after the larger blooms were adhered.

I then tied a length of the Cloud Cover Ribbon in a bow and adhered to the right hand side of the flowers using a GlueDot™. I stamped the sentiment in Secret Sea ink on a piece of Basic White card stock and cut close to the letters before adhering with Dimensionals.

I completed the card by adhering three of the Cloud Cover Flat Pearls on the card front.

Many thanks for stopping by today. I hope you will join in the fun of creating with the Colour INKspiration Challenges or join our FaceBook Group.
