Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop - Colour Challenge

Hello and welcome to the Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop for July 23!! Boy this year is going so fast. Hard to believe we are at the back end of the year. Christmas will soon be here.

Talking about Christmas. This is a colour challenge based on the Hallmark Dream Book for 2023. We were challenged to use at least three of the colours on the front cover of the publication or dive in to the book and find more inspiration and colour palettes there. I decided to use the front cover as inspiration to ctreate a Father's Day card for next month. The only colour I didn't use is Sweet Sorbet. I did peek inside the covers to see what treasures are for sale rather than colour inspiration though. You know that was going to happen if you know me. It is so special!

Wild Wheat | Sweet Sorbet | Pecan Pie | Cherry Cobbler | Pretty Peacock

With Father's Day fast approaching I chose the more neutral colours and tried to create an Argyle Sweater look for my card. Leaving the Wild Wheat for the sentiment layers.

The diamond die cut pieces were just glue on the front as I needed to be able to wiggle them into place. I just used a ruler for placement. The Pecan Pie and Pretty Peacock are fabulous together and they both made the Wild Wheat pop! Pecan Pie for the banners to add contrast to the sentiment layer.

I decided to stamp the No.1 sentiment in Cherry Cobbler on Wild wheat card stock as white would have looked wrong. I die cut this with the smallest Stylish Shapes circle die. it was perfect asnd the stitching added texture to the card. Wild Wheat Jute Trim was the perfect embellishment.

Up next on this months hop is the wonderfully talented Ann Krucek.
