Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop - Colour Challenge

Hello and welcome to the February Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop!

This month we have a colour challenge for inspiration. The crew had to pick 3 of the 5
Stunning colours to use on our project. I was wanting to make a Valentines Card, so, I chose Sweet Sorbet, Orchid Oasis and Shaded Spruce for my colour palette. I love when purples and reds are used together. I also wanted a fairly simple card as I have Tendonitis in my right wrist and I have been wearing a splint for weeks now. Boy the Stamparatus has been wonderful during this time.

Here is my completed Valentine's Day card using the Country Bouquet stamp set. I love this stamp sets gorgeous floral heart and sentiments. So simple to use with the Stamparatus.

  1. Start with a Sweet Sorbet  card base measuring 21cm x14.9cm scored and folded  in half
  2. Cut a piece of Orchid Oasis card stock to measure 9.9cm x14.2cm
  3. Cut a piece of Sweet Sorbet card stock to measure 9.6cm x 13.8cm. Stamp the small cluster of flowers all over this piece in Sweet Sorbet ink  Then glue to the Orchid Oasis piece and adhere to the card base using Dimensional’s
  4. On a basic white piece of card stock stamp  the heart image in both Sweet  Sorbet and Shaded Spruce Ink
  5. Die cut this basic white stamped piece using a 7cm stitched square from the Stylish Shapes dies
  6. Cut a square measuring 7.4 cm² in Orchid Oasis card stock And glue this to the Stamped heart image square then adhere to the card front using Dimensional’s
  7. On an Orchid Oasis piece of card stock stamp the sentiment in Versamark™Ink. Then sprinkle with White embossing powder and set with the Heat Tool

Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop- Technique Challenge

Hello and welcome to the February Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop.

Each month a group of creative friends create a project for a theme. Below is an image of all of the crew and where they are from around the globe. Such a wonderfully talented group of people.

This month we a have a technique challenge. To choose a team members favourite Embossing method. Wet, Dry or Resist Embossing. When I spoke to my team member it was a resounding Heat Embossing!! My favourite method too! When I thought about what I would make I wanted to return to my early days of heat embossing, you know, over the toaster, and to the joy it gave me to see the embossing setting on my card stock. Particularly White embossing Powder on Kraft card stock.

  1. Start with a Kraft note card Base
  2. Cut another piece of Kraft card to measure 7.9cm x 12cm. Stamp the images of the top right and bottom left with Versamark™ink and sprinkle with the White Embossing Powder and set with the Heat Tool
  3. Cut a piece of Basic White card stock to measure 8.2cm x 12.3cm and glue the stamped layer to this. Then secure both layers  to the card front using Dimensionals
  4. Stamp the sentiment on Kraft card stock in  Versamark™ink and sprinkle with the White Embossing Powder and set with the Heat Tool. Use paper trimmer to create angled rectangle shape
  5. Cut a 8.5cm length of the Pool party Ribbon, angle the ends and adhere to the centre of the card using glue. Secure the sentiment on top using Dimensionals
  6. Secure three of the Pool Party Fine Sparkle Gems around the sentiment

Up next on our Blog Hop is my wonderful friend Rochelle Laird-Smith.

I have Tendonitis in my right wrist at the moment and wanted a simple project for this challenge as crafting and blogging is painful. I settled on using the Greatest Journey stamp set and some easy colouring with Stampin’ Blends.

.

  1. Start with a Basic White card base measuring 21cm x 14.9cm scored and folded in half
  2. Cut another piece of Basic White card stock to measure 9.9cm x 14.3cm and adhere to the card front using Dimensional's
  3. Stamp the floral stamp from the Greatest Journey stamp set on a piece of Basic White card stock in Memento ™ Tuxedo Black Ink
  4. Using the Layering Dies die cut a 7cm circle in the stamped Basic White card stock
  5. Colour in the image using Stampin’ Blends
  6. Adhere the stamped and coloured circle to the front of the card using Dimensional’s
  7. Stamp the sentiment on a piece of Balmy Blue card stock in Versamark™ Ink. Sprinkle with White Embossing Powder and set with the Hear Tool  Die cut using the die from the Stylish Shapes Dies and adhere using Dimensional’s to the card front on the right side
