Colour INKspiration #160

Hello and welcome to Colour INKspiration #160!!

We have the sweetest colour palette for your for this challenge. This challenges image was chosen by crew member Vicki Boucher.

As soon as I saw the colour palette I was drawn to create a baby card and have used the Little Dreamers Bundle. The little Lion image is so very sweet amongst the clouds.

The card base and mat layer is Lemon Lolly. The Lemon Lolly DSP is from the Lighter than Air DSP. This DSP is beautiful with lovely subtle colours.

A Deckled Rectangle was cut out of Basic White card stock. I used a blending brush colour this piece lightly with Balmy Blue ink. The lion and stars are stamped on Basic White card stock and coloured with Stampin' Blends before being cut out using the coordinating dies. I cut out three of the clouds in Basic White card stock.

The clouds, lion and stars were arranged on the Deckled Rectangle and adhered using Dimensionals. The sentiment was stamped using Versamark™ink  and stamped on Basic Black card stock before being sprinkled with White Embossing Powder and set with the Heat Tool. I trtimmed this piece to a rectangle with paper snips before adhering to the right hand side of the lion. I adhered three of the Balmy Blue Rainbow Adhesive Backed Dots around the die cuts on the Deckled Edge Rectangle.

Thanks for visiting today. I hope you will join one of the Colour INKspiration Challenges too!

Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop - Technique Challenge

Hello and welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday Blog hop for February.

Below is an image of where the crew are from around the globe. Such a wonderful group of creatives wanting to inspire you. This months theme is a Technique Challenge. I have decided to use my favourite technique to create a Valentine's Day card for Valentine's Day today.

Here is my project, and you can easily tell my favourite technique is to heat emboss. I heat embossed the sentiment. I still get a kick out of the agic that is heat embossing. If you haven't tried it before I encourage you to have a go. The effect is truly gorgeous.

I settled on the Bee Mine Suite Collection for my project. The card base is Sweet sorbet and the DSP from the Bee Mine Designer Series Paper. I love the design on this piece of DSP. I tied a piece of the Sweet Sorbet ribbon around the centre of the DSP.

I die cut the second largest Scalloped Contour rectangle in Basic White. I cut out the larger circle from the Everyday Details Dies in Basic White to sit under my Bee and a second smaller on for the sentiment.

The bee was stamped in Daffodil Delight and Memento™ Tuxedo Black ink. The wings in Pool Party ink. I punched out these images after stamping them and put it together before adhering to the larger circle and the scalloped rectangle using Dimensionals.

The sentiment was stamped in Versamark™ ink, sprinkled with Black Embossing Powder and set with the heat tool. Then the circle adhered to the scallop layer using Dimensionals.

I punched out two hearts in Sweet Sorbet and adhered using glue to the lower centre of the two circles. I then adhered three of the hearts from the Adhesive Backed Hearts and Flowers. The final touch was a length of White Twine tied in a double bow on the right hand side.

Up next on the months blog hop is my friend Rochelle Laird-Smith. Click on the next blog button below to head to her post for more inspiration.
