Colour INKspration #162

Hello and welcome to Colour INKspiration #162.

This challenge has some amazing colours to work with. Chosen by crew member Rose Packer.

The colours were giving me vintage vibes and I set about to make a Toile like background layer that would look good alongside the stamped images.

The card base is Very Vanilla and the mat layer is Boho Blue. The Toile layer is Early Espresso ink on Very Vanilla card stock, so easy to create. I stamped the bird and flower in Early espresso in Very Vanilla card stock.  I coloured the bird in with Boho Blue and Crumb Cake Blends and the Bloom in Azure Afternoon and Crumb Cake Blends before die cutting both. I added some sparkle to the wings and back of the bird by using Wink Of Stella on these areas. I let this dry completely.

I tied the Boho Blue ribbon in a large bow and adhered to the top of the Toile layer. I cut two of the round labels from the Thoughtful Expressions dies. One in Boho Blue card stock and a smaller one in Very Vanilla card stock. I stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso ink on the Very Vanilla piece. Glued both together before adhering to the card front using Dimensionals.

I then adhered the bird and bloom using Dimensionals. The final touch was three ot the Boho Blue In Colour Dots adhereed to the Toile layer.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you feel inspired to join in a colour challenge or use the colours for a card of your own.

Aound the World on Wednesday Blog Hop - March Blues

Hello and welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop for March.

This month we are celebrating the colour blue with March Blues Monochrome Colour Challenge.

Below is an image of where the crew are from around the globe. Such a wonderful group of creatives wanting to inspire you with our March Blues Monochrome Colour Challenge.

The beautiful blues chosen for this months hop are

Pool Party
Balmy Blue
Boho Blue
Misty Moonlight
Night of Navy

I love all the colours for this challenge and wanted to make a blue floral card. The Stippled Roses Bundle was perfect for this colour challenge. I have teamed it with the Perrenial Postage Dies.

I have kept the card fairly simple with a white card base and mat layer. I cut out a Perennial Postage rectangle in Basic White and blended some Pool Party ink on it lightly with a blending brush. I then adheres to the centre of the card using Dimensionals.

I stamped the roses and leaves in Night of Navy before cutting them out using the coordinating dies. I then coloured  the roses image only in Balmy Blue, Boho Blue and Mist Moonlight Stampin' Blends.

I also cut two of the smaller leves in Basic White card stock. I arranged all pieces and adhered to the front of the Perrenial Postage rectangle using Dimensionals and glue.

I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy ink on Basic White card stock before Die cutting it with the small Perrenial Postage rectangle. I cut a length of Night of Navy bordereed ribbon 1cm larger on either side of the sentiment label. Bannered the ends and adhere to the bottom right of the larger Perrenial Postage rectangle.

Up next on this months blog hop is the amazing Rochelle Laird-Smith. Please click on the next blog button below to head to her blog post for more March Blues inspiration.

THanks so much for stopping by today. I hope we have inspired you to get those blue inks out to create this month!

I settled on the Thoughtful Expressions Bundle and coordinating Designer Series Paper for this card. The bloom is so easy to work with and colour. And the labels perfect for any occasion.

The card base is Moody Mauve. The base layer Crumb cake and the DSP Moody Mauve. I stamped the image in Memento™ Tuxedo Black ink and coloured in with Stampin' Blends. The centre of the Bloom Melon Mambo and the petals Moody Mauve. The leaves are coloured with the Garden Green Stampin' Write Marker. I cut out the bloom using the coordinating dir. I also cut some solid leaves from Garden Green card stock to place around the bloom. I adhered the bloom and leaves to a Basic White label from the coordiating dies using Dimensionals and glue. Then adhere the label with blooms to the centre of the card using Dimensionals

Adhere a large Linen Thread bow to the right hand side of the blooms using glue. The sentiment is stamped in Garden Green on Basic White card stock and I used a Die cut from the coordinating dies to cut it out. Adhere to the right hand side of the bottom layer using Dimensionals. Sewcure three of the Moody Mauve In Colour Dots around the sentiment and bloom.
