Around the World on Wednesday - Paper Tearing This or That

Hello and welcome to the first Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop for 2026!

I am excited to share projects with this wonderful group of creatives this year. We have so much to share with you this year. Below is an image of our locations around the world.

This month we are showcasing This or That projects featuring paper tearing and focusing on our wonderful Team Member Jan Clothier from New Zealand. I have loved Jan's projects for many years and really love her style of creating. Jan is an Alumni of the Artisan Design Team and loves to create using a faux torn paper mask background using a mask. We became friends many years ago and met her in 2019 in Auckland for our OnStage event. It was wonderful to meet in person.

I found this gorgeous card Jan made for a Colour Challenge. I love her clean and elegant style. This is a perfect example of Jan using a torn paper technique. Isn't is a beautiful card?

I wanted to create similar cards using a different stamp set and colour palette. My favourite colours at the moment are Secret Sea and Cloud Clover. I also recently acquired the Nature's Symphony Bundle and felt this was the perfect opportunity to use it. For my this or that I have used some different products to create the torn paper. One card is simpler and the other more stepped up.

For my first card I have used Stampin' Up!® Masking Paper to mask off the top and bottom of a piece of Basic White card stock mat layer. The card base is also Basic White card stock. I then used blending brushes and Cloud Cover ink to create the central image. I stamped the branches in Secret Sea ink and the horizontal broken lines image in Cloud Cover ink.

I stamped the sentiment in Secret Sea ink on Cloud Cover card stock and cut it out using a die from the Textured notes dies. I had to make this die cut smaller by moving the die along to cut the rectangle smaller.

I cut two of the leaves in Secret Sea card stock. I adhered these to the right hand side of the card and used Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment label on top. Then Three of the Cloud Cover Flat Pearls were adhered around the leaves. The stamped layer was glued to the card front.

For my second card I have stepped it up. Using a Basic White card base and mat layer. I then tore a piece of Cloud Cover Two toned card stock. The lighter side was then stamped using the branch stamp in Secret Sea ink and the horizontal broken lines image in Cloud Cover ink. This torn layer was glued to the Basic White mat layer.

I stamped the sentiment in Secret Sea ink on Cloud Cover card stock and cut it out using a die from the Textured notes dies. I had to make this die cut smaller by moving the die along to cut the rectangle smaller.

I cut two of the leaves in Secret Sea card stock. I adhered these to the right hand side of the card and then cut a length of the Secret Sea Ribbon, tied it in a bow and adhered to the mat layer below the strip using GlueDots™. I used Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment label on top. Then Three of the Secret Sea Flat Pearls were adhered around the leaves. The stamped layer was adhered to the card front Dimensionals.

I love how both cards turned out and really enjoyed using both techniques to display a torn effect. I have to say that the Two Toned card stock is a wonderful addition to our papers for many reason. Especially the white core when you tear or Emboss and distress this paper. It was a lot of fun!

Up next on this month's blog hop is my friend Rochelle Laird-Smith. Click on the next button below to keep hopping.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you will create using a torn effect someday. I am sure you will enjoy it immensely. Have a great week.

Colour INKspiration #202

Hello and Happy New Year!

A big welcome to Colour INKspiration #202 - our first challenge for 2026!

WE have a beautiful colour palette for our first challenge for 2026. The inspiration image was chosen by Lou Kitzelman and Sandra Strobel is our guest designer for this challenge. make sure you check out her project on our Facebook page.

What a beautiful colour palette. I love when there is green in a colour palette, my favourite colour. I was drawn to use the Creative Haven Bundle when my friend brought it to a crafty day together. The tag and stamp set are just lovely. I love it teamed with the All in a Row Embossing Folder.

The card base is Basic White as is the layer embossed using the All in a Row Embossing Folder. The embossed layer was adhered to the cards base using glue.

The sentiment was stamped in Garden Green ink on Basic White card stock. I then die cut it using a coordinating die. I punched a small hole in the top of the sentiment label and cut a short length of the Gold Striped Mesh Ribbon in half lengthwise and tied a bow on the top of the label using a piece of White Baker's Twine I then die cut a piece of Garden Green card stock with the same tag die and adhered it to the base of the sentiment label on an angle using Dimensionals. This layer was adhered to the card front using Dimensionals.

I die cut some small flowers and centres using the Perfectly Pears Dies that are still available in the Online Store. I cut the flowers in Pretty in Pink and Strawberry Slush card stock with Peach Pie and Lemon Lolly card stock for the centres. The centres were glue on each flower and four were glued to the sentiment label and the one near the ribbons was adhered using a Dimensional.

The finishing touch was placing a Tiny Bee Trinket, that is gold, next to the word golden on the sentiment label.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. You are appreciated!
