Colour INKspration #201

Hello and welcome to Colour INKspiration #201. Our last challenge for 2025.

This year has gone by so quickly and I am sure you would agree there is never enough time for creating cards. I am so grateful for this wonderful group who keep recreating with wonderful colour combinations. This last challenge has got to be one of my most favourite colour palettes. Perfect for Christmas and beyond. I hope you will join us for this last challenge.

I have not purchased many Christmas stamp sets this year as I want to focus on using my chosen stamp sets to their fullest. I am using products from the Traditions of Christmas Suite Collection. I love this traditional bundle and I am a traditional Christmas lover, right down to the wreaths, snowflakes and snowy scenes from the northern hemisphere. I hope to enjoy a white Christmas one day.

I started with a Pretty Peacock card base and mat layer that I ran through the Cut & Emboss Machine using the Traditional Wreath 3D embossing folder. I used Pretty Peacock ink to darken the edges of the mat layer using a Blending Brush. I then splattered some White ink mix with water on the mat layer for some snowy interest. Then glued this to the card front

I die cut the label in basic white,The sprigs in Gold Foil, the holly in Pretty Peacock, the berries in Poppy Parade and the bow and leaves in Melon Mambo. I used a Blending Brush and Pretty Peacock ink to darken the holly so it would stand out on the card front. I adhered these elements, except the bow, on the card front using glue and GlueDots™.

The Basic White label was adhered on top of all the elements using Dimensionals. I adhered the sentiment to the Basic White label by peeling off the back of the sentiment. This is such a great way to adhere these sentiments and makes Christmas card making a lot easier. The bow was glued on the right hand side of the sentiment and the final touch was three gold sequins around the sentiment and lower elements. 

I did not pop things up with Dimensionals as I wanted this to go in the post without anything falling off en route. But the design lends itself to much more embellishment and height.
