Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop - Sketch Challenge

It is time to hop Around the World on Wednesday with this amazing group of creative friends again. The hops are so much fun and I am so happy that I can participate in this blog hop. Below is an image of where we all reside all over the world.

This month we have a fun sketch challenge. Below is the fun sketch. I decided that this sketch would make a gorgeous Christmas card and chose to use products from the divine Joy of Christmas Suite.

I love the plaid papers in the Joyful Designer Series Paper and felt that a rustic card would work well with some Linen Thread. I have used both the Christmas Classics Stamp set and the Joy of Noel stamp set along with the Joy pf Christmas Designer Series Paper. I love everything about this Suite and have seen many wonderful projects using this suite. It is just perfect for Christmas!!

I wanted the Shaded Spruce Plaid DSP to sit beside the Crumb Cake card base and the stunning holly piece of DSP to be the strip on the left hand side. I also wanted to keep the rustic look by stamping images in Crumb Cake ink on Crumb Cake Card Stock. After stamping the images in Crumb Cake ink I cut them out with the smallest square from the Stylish Shapes Dies. I love the stitched squares. I then cut two smaller pieces of the red DSP to measure 2cm x 2cm to sit beside the stamped larger die cut squares. I love this contrast!! All the squares were adhered using Dimensionals but could be glued down for a flatter card for posting.

I have tied a length of Linen Thread in a bow for the centre of the card and adhered using a glue dot. The sentiment was stamped again in Crumb Cake ink on Crumb Cake card stock before cuting out close to the letters using Paper Snips. I then used Dimensionals to adhere to the centre right of the bow.

Up next on this months Sketch Challenge is my talented friend Rochelle Laird-Smith.

Colour INKspiration #153

It is already time for another Colour INKspiration Challenge.

Welcome to  Colour INKspiration #153!

This challenges inspiration picture was chosen by crew member Vicki Boucher. Such a beautiful image of those books and flowers bound together. I hope this image inspires you to create your own project  Use all the colours or select a few to work with.

I am in love the the Two Toned Flora Bundle and the Something Fancy Bundle.  I so often look to these coordinating bundles as soon as I start looking at stamp sets for new projects. There is something so appealing to me about this suite. I have teamed it with the versatile Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder. This embossing folder is something else and a wonderful addition to your collection. I have offset the embossed background layer and roughed the edges to give a vintage look before gluing it to the card base.

The card base is Thick Basic White card stock. Moody Mauve ink is dark so I stamped the ink off for the main floral image, then stamped the rest of the flower. The leaves are stamped in Lost Lagoon and I used a Blender Pen to add Coastal Canbana in to the whites of the leaves. I also used a Blender Pen to add some Lemon Lolly to the stamen in the centre of the bloom.

The sentiment is stamped in Moody Mauve before die cutting the label from the Something Fancy dies. The Petal Pink ribbon from the Ribbon Duo Combo, was layed in a double bow inderneath the bloom and adhered with Glue Dots™before adhering the flower and leaves with Dimensionals. I placed three of the Lost Lagoon Tinsel Gems around the bloom and sentiment.

Be sure to see what the rest of the crew have created on our Facebook Colour INKspiration Challenge page. The crew will have some gorgeous projects to inspire you! We would love you to create a project and share it to the Colour INKspiration Challenges page.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Colour INKspiration #152

Hello and welcome to Colour INKspiration #152!

This month we have a beautiful colour palette chosen by team member Bronwyn Eastley. Isn't it gorgeous!! It would suit my home decor so beautifully. I love the ocean and nautical elements.

I needed to create some sympathy cards as I always like too have them on hand. This Bundle worked so well with the colour palette. The images are simple, elegant and aso easy to work with.

The card base is Night of Navy. Once I embossed the Basic White card stock I was able too stamp the floral images in Starry Sky ink on top of the embossed card stock. I was surprise that this worked so well and the images are clear. The Distressed Tile Embossing Folder is a stunning embossing folder and one that you will bring out time and time again. I love it!

The sentiment layer was stamped in Night of Navy and Gray Granite before punching out. I used both Linen Thread and Night of Navy Bordered Ribbon as I felt I needed a contrast from all the blue and the Linen Thread went well with Gray Granite.

I hope you enjoyed hearing how this simple card came together. This Bundle is amazing and something you could use when in need of a quick card for a special occasion. Any of the sentiments from this Bundle will work with this punch and outline stamp. Watch this space for more projects featuring this Bundle.

MAny thanks for stopping by my blog post today!
