It is time to hop Around the World on Wednesday with this amazing group of creative friends again. The hops are so much fun and I am so happy that I can participate in this blog hop. Below is an image of where we all reside all over the world.
This month we have a fun sketch challenge. Below is the fun sketch. I decided that this sketch would make a gorgeous Christmas card and chose to use products from the divine Joy of Christmas Suite.
I love the plaid papers in the Joyful Designer Series Paper and felt that a rustic card would work well with some Linen Thread. I have used both the Christmas Classics Stamp set and the Joy of Noel stamp set along with the Joy pf Christmas Designer Series Paper. I love everything about this Suite and have seen many wonderful projects using this suite. It is just perfect for Christmas!!
I wanted the Shaded Spruce Plaid DSP to sit beside the Crumb Cake card base and the stunning holly piece of DSP to be the strip on the left hand side. I also wanted to keep the rustic look by stamping images in Crumb Cake ink on Crumb Cake Card Stock. After stamping the images in Crumb Cake ink I cut them out with the smallest square from the Stylish Shapes Dies. I love the stitched squares. I then cut two smaller pieces of the red DSP to measure 2cm x 2cm to sit beside the stamped larger die cut squares. I love this contrast!! All the squares were adhered using Dimensionals but could be glued down for a flatter card for posting.
I have tied a length of Linen Thread in a bow for the centre of the card and adhered using a glue dot. The sentiment was stamped again in Crumb Cake ink on Crumb Cake card stock before cuting out close to the letters using Paper Snips. I then used Dimensionals to adhere to the centre right of the bow.
Up next on this months Sketch Challenge is my talented friend Rochelle Laird-Smith.
