Creature Comforts October Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to my blog!

What a great theme for this time of year. It is Spring in the Southern Hemisphere where I reside and Autumn in the Northern Hemisphere. Great Seasons as they are not too hot and not too cold - perfect I think and perfect to get cosy and comfortable!

I love the Still Scenes Bundle in the Holiday Catalogue. Just the most gorgeous stamps. I love this particular stamp with the cute and cosy cottage. So I decided to create a Wintery Christmas card that may evoke thoughts of cosying up beside a warm open fire. One of the best creature comforts any time of the year.

I started with a Mossy meadow card base measuring 21cm x 14.8cm scored and folded in half. I glued another piece of Mossy Meadow measuring 14.4cm x 10cm to that. I then cut another piece of Mossy Meadow to 13.9cm x 9.5cm and embossed it with the Winter Knit 3D Embossing Folder. Then glued this on top of the other layers.

I stamped the cottage image on Whisper White card stock in Memento™Tuxedo Black. I cut it out using the coordinating die. I used the Shimmery Crystal Effects to create the effect of snow on the roof, the tree and the foreground and let it dry. Then I coloured in the cottage in Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends, The trees in Mossy Meadow Stampin' Blends and the foreground Gray Granite Stampin' Blends.

I die cut a stitched circle from the Vellum. I also cut a Stitched Nested Label in the Woodgrain from the Pressed Petals Designer Series Paper.

I stamped the sentiment from the Itty Bitty Christmas in Versa Mark™on a scrap piece of Mossy Meadow card stock. Then sprinkled some White Stampin' Emboss Powder over the top and heated it with the heat tool. I punched it out with the Classic Label Punch.
To assemble I stuck the Cherry Cobbler Striped Ribbon down to the centre of the base using glue. I popped the Woodgrain Label on top of that using Dimensionals. Then I used Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment to the base of the vellum circle. Then placed the cottage image on top of that with Dimensionals. Then glued that to the woodgrain nested label. And your card is done!

Stampers Showcase Bog Hop September

It is time for the stampers showcase blog hop for September.

This months theme is Holiday Catalogue Favourites.

Now this was a real struggle for me as the whole catalogue is filled with my favourite things. Anything Christmas is always a favourite and this catalogue is brimming with beautiful products to help you create a bit of your own magic this Christmas.

I decided to chose the first bundle I purchased from the catalogue when it was released.

The Brightly Gleaming Bundle and Brightly Gleaming Designer Series Paper jumped out at me straight away with the Copper mixed with Mossy Meadow, Pretty Peacock and Night of Navy! Simply stunning!

I started with a Night of Navy Card base 21cm x 14.8cm scored and folded in half.

I then glued a piece of the DSP measuring 10cm x 14.4cm on top of that. Then a piece of the DSP measuring 6.5cm x 10.8cm glued onto another piece of Night of Navy measuring 7cm x 11.3cm. I then glued this to the base of the card.

I Cut out the second largest stitched circle from the Stitched Shapes Dies. I stamped the sentiment from the Itty Bitty Stamp set on the bottom right of the circle in Versa Mark™ then sprinkled with Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder. I then heat set it with the heat tool. I also stamped the Holly in  Versa Mark™ then sprinkled with Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder. I then heat set it with the heat tool. I coloured the leaves of the Holly with Mossy Meadow Blends. The berries were coloured in using the gorgeous new Celestial Copper Delicate Metallic Ink and a Blender Pen. Oh my! This ink is just amazing and gives a beautiful shine without the need to heat emboss. Perfect for making  quite a few cards at once. Make sure you treat yourself to some as you will love it as much as I do!

I fussy cut the Holly and popped this up on my Vanilla sentiment circle layer with Dimensionals. Then popped that layer using Dimensionals onto the card base. And your card is finished!

Colour INKspiration #64

Hello and welcome to my blog!

It is time for the Colour INKspiration Crew Blog Hop!

This is a beautiful posy of flowers for the inspiration this month.
The colours for this challenge are Highland Heather, Purple Posy and Garden Green.

When the Basic Pattern Decorative Masks appeared in the 2019 Holiday Catalogue I ordered them straight away. I love being able to create background images with masks.  I wanted to make a tropical card with the challenge colours.

I started with a Whisper White base card measuring 21cm x 14.8cm scored and folded in half.

I then used the sponge brayers to create the background image with the Sponge Brayers and Garden Green ink on a 10cm x 14.4cm piece of Whisper White. I used some washing tape to hold the card stock and the mask in place when brayering. I then glued this to the front of the card base.

I stamped two of the floral images from the Floral Essence stamp set in Highland Heather ink on a piece of Whisper White card stock.  I then punched these out. Using the Stampin' Blends I coloured them in with Highland Heather and Purple Posy. Then glued the two flowers together and let then dry.

I stamped the leaf image from the Floral Essence stamp set twice in Garden Green on a piece of Whisper White card stock. I then punched it out with the Leaf Punch.

I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment in Highland Heather on a piece of Whisper White card stock then punched this out with the Timeless Label Punch.

I glued the sentiment label to the brayered layer. I then glued the leaves to the base layer and glued the flower in place.

The products used to create this card are in the Product List below post!
