Hello and welcome to my blog post for the Eco Conscious Blog Hop!
I decided to create something for Easter this month and have recycled a retired Stampin' Up!® egg carton that I used quite a few years ago. I had decorated and Easter carton and filled it with treats for my daughters.
Below is the original decorated carton. I dismantled it to create my new design. The decoration came away and only minimal ripping occurred to the carton thankfully!
So for this Easter Carton I have used the very sweet Welcome Easter stamp Set! The images in this stamp set are perfect for colouring and they are very very sweet.
- Stamp the bunny on a piece of scrap Whisper hive Card stock in Memento™ Tuxedo Black ink. Colour him in using the Smokey Slate and Petal Pink Stampin' Blends. I left the bunnies chest white. Then fussy cut the bunny.
- Cut the 6.5cm x 6.5cm Stitched Shape square out in Whisper White card stock.
- Cut a Piece of Pool Party Card Stock to measure 7cm x 7cm.
- Cut a Piece of Whisper White Card Stock to 8cm x 8cm.
- Stamp the sentiment in Pool Party ink at the top right hand corner of the Stitched Square piece of Card Stock.
- Cut a piece of the Dinoroar Designer Series Paper to measure 6.5cm x 2cm and glue this to the base of the Stitched Square layer.
- Glue the three squares together with glue placing the Pool Party layer in the middle.
- Tie a 9cm piece of the Daffodil Delight Ruched Ribbon around the centre of the DSP securing at the back with Tear & Tape.
- Tie a smaller piece of the same ribbon in a knot at the left hand side of the bunny to create a small bow.
- Pop the bunny up using dimensional on the lower left of the stitched square and then glue all ayers to the carton.
I hope you like my cute little Recycled Easter carton. I plan to give it to one of my daughters for Easter. Both girls live out of home now and due to the current situation I probably won't see them for Easter but they will get it at some stage. It is a difficult time for all families as we deal with isolation, the need to work or being on the front one as many of my friends are. I am a retired nurse and my heart goes out to anyone who is separated from their family so they can care for those that are sick. This includes all people that work in hospitals and other health care facilities.
