Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop - Sketch Challenge

Hello and welcome to the Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop for May 2024!

This month we have a fabulous Sketch Challenge to work with. See below for our great sketch. I hope it inspires you to create a project yourself.

I love our Designer Series Paper and in particular our gourgeous scenes. The Meandering Meadows Designer Series Paper is beautiful and such a beautiful product to work with on its own. Sometimes I stamp on these pieces of DSP but this piece was just so perfect on its own. So I just paper pieced for my card and used a simple sentiment. The end product is a very easy to make card with minimal stamping. It would be so easy for you to create!

I cut out the DSP and then a Mat layer to sit behind it that was 1mm larger all around. I glued the DSP to the Night of Navy mat layer and adhered it to the front of my Night of Navy card base using Dimensionals. From the left over pieces I cut three 1cm strips and have used the other side of the DSP and glued each piece to the top of the larger DSP piece. I didn't measure any of these pieces perfectly, I just eyeballed it to keep the simple card theme going.

For the sentiment I stamped the sentiment from the Notes of Nature stamp set in Versamark™ink on Night of avy card stock, sprinkled some Gold Embossing Powder and set with the Heat Tool. I thern used my paper trimmer to cut it in a rectangle before adhering it to the front using Dimensionals.

Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop - Sketch Challenge

Hello and welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday blog hop for May.

Below is an image of where the crew are from around the globe. Such a wonderful group of creatives wanting to inspire you each month.

This months theme is a lovely sketch. I really love sketch challenges as you can use almost any stamp set to create with. I selected the gorgeous Layers of Beauty for my project and wanted to also use my favourite new In Colour, Summer Splash, with Basic Beige. I love this colour combination.

Basic Beige was perfect for the card base. I love this new addition and it is such a versatile neutral colour. i find myself reaching for it for every project at the moment. I cut a strip of Basic White card stock and ran it through the Cut & Emboss machine using the pretty floral Fun Patterns Embossing Folder and then adhered it to the right hand side of the card front. These Embossing Folders add so much pizazz to your projects.

I intended to stamp the floral image on a piece of Summer Splash card stock initially but I wanted to add more texture. So I stamped the floral images from the Layers of Beauty stamp set in Summer Splash  on a strip of Summer Splash Designer Series Paper for more interest. I then cut this piece into three strips before gluing to the left hand side of the card front.

The sentiment was stamped in Summer Splash on Basic White card stock and die cut using one of the Spotlight on Nature Dies. These circle dies are the perfect addition to your die collection and perfect for any occasion. I popped the sentiment circle up on Dimensionals. The floral pieces to the right on the sentiment layer are two of the small floral images stamped in Summer Splash again and both adhered using Dimensionals. The finishing piece was a length of Linen Thread tied in a bow adhered using Glue Dots™ to the top of the floral layer.

Up next on this months Blog Hop is my friend Rochelle Laird-Smith. Make sure you keep hopping around to see everyones project using this sketch. You will be so pleased with the inspiration from the crew.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you will create something with this sketch!

Colour INKspiration #165

Hello and welcome to Colour INKspiration #165.

This months gorgeous inspiration picture was chosen by Jan Clothier. Such a beautiful image of Dahlia's in bloom. They are very special flowers and remind me of bouquets as they always seem to have a Dahlia in them.

I was deawn to create my card using the stunning new Layers of Beauty Bundle which includes stamps, dies and masks to colour the roses and leaves. Making colouring so much fun and I used Blending Brushes to achieve this look. The flowers are perfect and seemingly jump off the page.

The new Basic Beige ink was used to stamp the floral image. I love this new colour so much and feel it will feature in a lot of my upcoming projects as it is a versatile colour to work with. I then coloured the image uasing the gorgeous the Masks, Blending Brushes, Petal Pink, Peach Pie and Shy Shamrock inks. Before cutting it with the coordiunating die. I also cut out some leaves in Basic White card stock to glue around the coloured image.

I used the pretty new Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder on Basic White card stock to sit behind my bloom. The striped Shy Shamrock sitting behind the Eyelet layer is a piece of the In Colour 6' x 6' Designer Series Paper. I offset each of these layers for a fun look and you get to see more of the beautiful DSP.

I stamped the sentiment in Shy Shamrock on Basic White card stock and die cut it using a label die from the Enduring Beauty Dies. I did move the die to create a smaller version that suited the sentiment better. I cut a length of the Diagonal White Trim just longer than the sentiment label and adhered it to the back of the label before adhering it to the card front using Dimensionals. I secured six of the Peach Pie Shimmer Gems around the bloom and leaves. They are so pretty and a great addition to your stash.

Many thanks for stopping by today. I hope you will use this colour palette and perhaps join us in this colour challenge on Facebook here!

Colour INKspiration #164

Hello and welcome to Colour INKspiration #164.

We are bidding farewell to these amazing In Colours with our Challenge today. I really have enjoyed the vibrance and depth of these In Colours. It was so lovely to have them during the lifting of Covid restrictions as we were navigating our way with masks and limitations on our lifestyle. These colours were just cheery and a delight to have as part of our colour palette. My favourites are Sweet Sorbet and Starry Sky equally, I cannot decide which I liked more. What did you like about these colours and which was your favourite?

I wanted to use a Bundle that was also retiring at the end of the current catalogue. I have not used the Colour and Contour stamp set as much as I would have liked. The dies were used a lot and will remain in my collection. The simple images in the stamp set are so lovely and I set about creating a bunch of blooms for the central focus of my card.

The card base is Starry Sky with a mat layer on top. I also used the scallop die to create a rectangle to adhere the blooms to. You can just see it peeking out the bottom of the blooms. After stamping the leaves I used a small blending brush to colour each leaf before fussy cutting them.

The sentiment was stamped on Starry Sky card stock and I die cut it with one of the rectangle die cuts and turned on its side and cut in half as it fit the sentiment better. I stamped the sentiment in Verssamark™ink, sprinkled with White Embossing Powder and set with the Heat Tool. I adhered it with Dimensionals to the bottom right of the blooms. I then tied a length of the Starry Sky Bakers Twine in a double bow and adhered it to the left hand side under the blooms using a Glue Dot™.

I enjoyed using these colours again much more than I anticipated. They are beautiful and bold. I have ordered some more card stock in Starry Sky and Sweet Sorbet so I don't run short as I can see myself using it again and again.

Hope I have inspired you today to create uaing the In Colours or pull something out that you have hardly used and get creative! Thanks for stopping by today.
